It's 2024, and the new game's name is kinda tacky... Can we go back to just "Sea of Thieves" or some better naming?

  • Having "2023 edition" in the game's title now feels like the game is outdated. And I don't think the solution is renaming it to "2024 edition" either :P

Why not future-proof it and rename it back to just "Sea of Thieves"? Or, at the very least, name it something that doesn't make it seem like a yearly iteration of FIFA? "Sea of Thieves: Sail Together" for the multi-platform release, maybe?

  • I thought the same thing. Yearly released games are tacky.

  • I imagine they'll change it at some point. They renamed it to kind of tell new players that it wasn't the same Sea of Thieves from 2018, and that it had changed a lot but they can't keep a 'year' moniker on it forever because it'll just get stale eventually.

  • Maybe it'll get something new at the end of April as the pirates of the console battles unite for the common goal of piratical pig catching and annoying those around them with excessive grog consumption.

  • Looking through the other threads, the one I thought of was: "Sea of Thieves - Open Beta Edition"

  • I wish seasons still had fancy titles. Season 11? Season 12...13...14...bleh. Season of the Platform! Unlucky Seas! Season of the Kraken!
