Reward for catching cheaters to players

  • Why not give players who help find cheaters a separate reward, such as sails? Perhaps this will motivate players to file complaints (this is a problem at the moment, as cheaters create new accounts and players see no point in filing complaints), and will also make the cheaters themselves more afraid.

Let's say, "Sails of the Punisher".

  • This is great, if only Rare responded to actual cheater complaints first

  • @doeshes no it creat a bunch of false reports because players want the sail or whatever cosmetic

  • @otherfanboy Players will at least file these complaints, because now few people are doing this, I asked many to send complaints about cheaters, but they simply don’t see the point in it...

If they were banned by IP it would make sense, otherwise everything is useless. And so at least some motivation, and you can make some rules for receiving rewards

  • @doeshes the problem is they'll get flooded with report and have to sort through them which will take even longer than it does that being said I don't think iv every seen a cheater in SoT but my crew is trash too so I don't know if they beat us cuz they where good or cheating 😂

  • @otherfanboy This makes sense, but such a problem exists, today I was able to “see” people who can become invisible, I think pvp players encounter this more often.

But I think it would be interesting if this system were implemented well :)

  • @doeshes I stand by what iv said it won't be good or healthy yes Rare NEEDS to do something about cheating cuz I do see new posts all the time about it but rewarding players for reporting WILL creat a whole new problem just as bad as cheaters cuz False Bans hurt the game just as much as cheaters do

  • @otherfanboy Here's more about how to implement all this correctly.
I'm not sure how much the community will spend on these awards. Of course, there will be more complaints, but there will also be fewer scammers, because they will know that complaints are being compiled and verified. I personally think it all depends on the implementation of this idea/mechanics. I am sure that if everything is organized correctly, you can achieve success in this.
Of course, there are cheaters who are "not caught", but it depends on how they are checked

Admittedly I tend to be one of those who doesn’t always report because it can feel futile. I have reported and gotten notification from Rare that player x has been banned based on my report. It’s satisfying and I’m sure helpful in some way, but during season 9, I encountered so many cheaters doing everything from insta ladder to flying and spawning kegs, that I ended up with too many videos to be motivated.

Well, the cheaters are making a comeback. Would the ops idea be a good one? Not sure, but some incentive might help. I’d guess that most people just log out and don’t bother after dying to a cheater.

  • Good idea!!!

But you need to give so much evidence just to report someone so false reports won't be a worry

  • @elextrov won't stop them from making the report anyways and beside most anti-cheat system in games are automatic not sorted out by hand and in my past experience they ban you from just the report and you have to prove other wise(buddie got banned from a game cuz he signed in on his Bro in laws system)

  • @otherfanboy but rare doesn't have an anti cheat so they do it by hand

  • I wonder how many people would try to convince someone to install cheat software so they can report them, just to get the sails ...

  • @elextrov they have said their working on it tho and this encourages bad behavior im all for new rewards and fun ways to earn them this just isn't it and I agree cheaters need to be banned from the game no doubts about it but rewarding other for reporting it no iv always report clear cheaters in games heck iv had a random teammate in a team using cheat and reported them(halomcc)

  • Я считаю не косметика,а 1читер=1к донатных монет.

  • @otherfanboy they could give the sails to people who reported and got cheaters banned stopping the rewards when the anti cheat comes

  • @elextrov I'd rather they just focus on getting an anti cheat system instead of stopping to work on a rewards for those who catch cheaters and and system to manually ban them for cheating

  • It would be better to update the reporting system and add an item for cheating, since not everyone knows what to do if they encounter a dishonest player and do not take any action, and the rewards are not so important, but this will be a good motivation to do the work of the developers

  • @krer777 It seems to me that everyone understands and knows, but it just doesn't make sense, due to the fact that new accounts are created and it’s annoying.
As far as I know there is a ban for bypassing the ban, but finding cyberspotmen with 4 hours in the game is becoming more and more common

  • What's even a bigger concern nowadays is - for many multiplayer games you don't even need to own them...

There are tons of multiplayer games via Steam people play without ever spending a dime. That's why it's even harder to battle script kiddos. The only thing they pay for is a subscription for a cheat.

Free games, free accounts. And even when they ban your hardware, they just use hardware spoofers and go a circle. New Steam account, new MS account. Here we go again.

It takes 5min to google specific websites. Y'all know what I'm talking about.

The problems are Steam "workarounds". And especially with this, it's remarkably hard to root out cheaters from multiplayer games sadly. A better anti-cheat system will definitely help (to faster recognize a cheat and ban the player asap), but it needs to be constantly maintained - the same way cheats keep getting maintained (updated).

  • @otherfanboy you have to have proof it dont matter if it is a false report. they will be able to see who is telling the truth

  • @madladdunkling I get having to prove cheaters my point is getting flooded with false reports in the hopes of a reward will create it's own problem better time spent on just getting an anti cheat

  • @otherfanboy Hackers are everywhere I even have a clip of proof if you would like to see it. Just DM me on xbox at MadLadDunk and I will show you how bad the problem is with these cheaters

  • The satisfaction of watching the email come through saying a player you’ve reported for cheating has been permanently banned, is satisfying enough. We don’t need a reward to persuade players to do it.
Imagine the massive influx of false reports that Rare have to go through manually, just to reject 90% of the reports all because people want a measly sail. Look how people clammer over each other for the one off cosmetics they do via promos. Doritos, Mountain Dew, Oreo etc.

  • @madladdunkling I believe their are cheaters report them to both Xbox and rare I just don't think rewarding people for reporting cheaters is a good idea or implementing a system for that ....yes rare needed to add an anti cheat and yes there needs to be a prema ban to those who do

  • @otherfanboy xbox does nothing. I have got so many people banned for actual hacks. You have to provide video evidence though. if there is no video they skip your report

  • @madladdunkling great get a cookie for reporting cheaters but if rare gets a proper anti cheat system put in you won't have to report them making the reward pointless

  • @otherfanboy Lol why the attitude xD "get a cookie?" Sounds like you just want people to give up on reporting people.

  • @madladdunkling no mean go get a cookie good job get those cheaters out of here but if rare has to go through an influx of false reports simply because they wanna get a reward it will slow the real reports way down and if there a proper anti cheat system they'll have to go through even less to get cheaters out and that is way more important

  • @otherfanboy I just feel like they wont ever implement a anti-cheat. I just think they community needs to stick together and continue reporting them, but people are discouraged to report because they just make a new account. Motivation is key to keep reporting that is why I personally agree with the reward

  • @madladdunkling the reward won't change anything if others keep making new accounts and they have said their working on a anticheat system sure it's not here yet and the best thing you can do is report cheaters which feels pointless at times but just keep at it as long as you see them cheating

  • @otherfanboy The anti cheat isnt gonna work. The hackers literally change the license of the game to not be banned. Unless they start finding a way to ip ban PC players the anti cheat will never work

  • @madladdunkling never said it was perfect and you never completely remove cheaters in online games the point is to reduce them as much as possible
