Skeleton Ships

  • You know those skeleton ships you see on the horizon? Remember how in your first game, they scared you?

    Now, they linger around. They sort of guard a fort. They sort of mark a player's location. They tend to run when you approach them.....

    How about make them more aggressive and actively hunt players. Make them scary!!! Make them truly hate the living!!!! Make it a war.

    Since we will soon have Safer Seas anyway. Let's ramp up High Seas to bring back scary moments. Let's make High Seas Great Again. HSGA.....chant it with me.

  • @rikjaxx they got nerfed due to players complaining about them being to aggressive now I agree both the skeleton ship and Megs need to be more aggressive and more of a threat heck even the Kraken is nothing more than a brief annoyance they could all use a pass except the kraken which could use a rework all together

  • Never changed much for me because I go into the skelly galleon encounter with like 8 cannonballs knowing that a kraken or meg is likely going to spawn soon lol.

    Never supplying up and only gathering light supplies as I go has been a significant part of why I never get bored in this game.

    Remember when they use to be a threat and players complain about them so they had to nerf them. Same with the kraken.

  • They just literally nerfed everything because everyone complaints that things are too hard all the time. You are swimming upstream on this one.

  • I think we sometimes forget that not everybody is just as skilled as we are (and ofcourse over here the skill gaps are probably big between the posters) and that for newer players those skelly ships are way more difficult then for us.

    For us a skelly sloop is just easy and we don't break a sweat, but newer players will find them very hard. A couple of weeks ago i had to save a sloop from a skelly ship because those 2 players couldn't handle it and where even shouting for help to me.

    Since this game has no skill based servers (would also be difficult) the servers have to made so that even new(er) players can survive on it, so it make sense that the skelly ships are made so that they are challenging for them, but not unbeatable. Even though that would make them very easy for experienced players.

  • They are kind of a pain in the butt when you are PvPing, I would say if anything make them harder in Safer Seas.

  • Already feels like patrolling skeleton ships do their utmost to sail directly in-front of you. Or if they spawn on/aggro onto your opponent in a PvP battle they'll quickly start ignoring them and spend most of their time firing on you - just what a solo needs vs a bigger ship.

    They're basically the fun police.
