  • @zyx As I said, these commendations unlocked means that one of my guilds reached distinction grade 10.

    I can’t guarantee that no one in my guild used the exploit. So If I log on and find the guild at level 10 what i must do? Don’t play at all because I can unlock commendations that I don’t deserve? Leave the guild? What’s the point of being in a guild if one can’t use the shared progress?

  • @fox-gr Distinction 10 is a long term goal, btw some very dedicated guild are over distinction 5 without use exploit, that means guild rep goals are not broken.
    This update if you are in a good guild it's less time consuming than captaincy or hourglass update

    A guild emissary quest would be nice. I play PVE so I like the leveling you are talking about. Keep up the good work. This is an amazing game.

  • I had a thought that perhaps the Guild value being updated in live time and pulling data for the guild emote as well as updating the guild level in live time for all sailing guild members might be putting an additional strain on the servers. Have you explored that as a potential issue for Server Performance?

    Well as Guilds are 24 players, you can't be expected to know everybody in the guild and know what they are or are not doing (as in exploiting or not)

    With things like LFG on Xbox there's a lot of guild recruitment posts and I have hopped in and out of a few trying to find one that has active players I can sail with and whose playstyle suits mine.
    Many others have done the same and many of us have probably joined guilds where a few players have used this HG reputation exploit without us knowing, unless they told everyone for some reason.
    So you're not really going to know who/if someone is doing it, especially if you have 15+ active players as rep can go up relatively fast when everyone is contributing.
    There are going to be many legitimate players in these guilds completely unaware of exploiting, so a complete guild reset would be disheartening and unfair to them. (Obviously it's a different story if the entire guild is doing it though)
    Rare will be aware of this and that is why they are looking to reset the progress of the actual exploiters. And then further action in due course. Any rep you have earned legitimately for your guild will remain. They are trying to be as fair as possible here and they cannot be any fairer than what they're doing.

    Bottom line is if you haven't exploited, you have nothing to worry about.

    The server you're playing on is likely not the same one tabulating guild experience.

    Glad you guys are committed to working improving server performance this is definitely a must!

    I'm still extremely bummed about hitreg being some of the worst its been. Especially after we were promised it was greatly improved. Because of this hourglass deck fighting currently feels very RNG and inconsistent.

    I'm also looking forward to updates on anticheat in the future. I additionally think some sort of account verification would be great to prevent cheaters from easily creating alt accounts.

  • @dooby-uk hg exploit is not so common and people doing it are organized inside guild, they are going to hit who abused it, chance to join randomly a guild doing it is close to 0%
    Said that if you join a guild that exploit hourglass also if you are clean you are getting illegitimate progress in the game, if they are not going to ban you or fully reset your pirate but only guild progress it's a fair choice because it's only 3 week progress and also you don't have to restart from zero because you can join in any moment another legit guild.

  • @sonicbob Have you considered making the quickswap speed the default weapon swap speed for everyone? That way quickswapping would provide no advantage over anyone else, and no extra animation needs to be added.

  • Dear developers.

    All server problems are caused by the same thing, it's not that the servers are cr4p, which they are, but the tickrate is pathetic, it's extremely low.

    Servers with less than 60hz update rate, will constantly generate instability problems, because with lower tickrates, information is lost and that generates the famous HitReg, Rubberbanding and teleports.

    I don't understand why in every patch you say that you've made improvements for stability, when all you have to do is get decent servers, you're not going to solve anything by patching something that runs at 24hz tickrate or less.

    Even if you limit the server to 10 players, the problems will still be there, because they are the same servers, with the same tickrate and the same loss of information in every interaction.

    Please, it's not that hard, the experience is getting worse every day.

  • I stand with the community that those who exploited and cheesed their achievements, curses and levels should face a complete account reset all progression should be reverted and the curses should be removed with also the punishment of a temporary ban and even when that ban is removed i feel they should also be forced to wear the "exploiter" title which can never be removed so even if they earn everything back again they are permanently shamed as a exploiter.

    Since today update ledger situation stays the same.

    if you have done nothing wrong then you won't be banned.

    the reason why people are saying those who "exploited" should be reset and/or banned is because these players effectively cheated there commendations and/or curses in we are not discussing the weekend Xp gain we are talking about the exploits that rare was saying about that has since been patched.

  • Any changes to server limits? I have a friend claiming he was on a 5 brigantine server recently.

    I think that there is a binding agreement to support Xbox One consoles for the game's lifespan, 10 years (we're at 5.5/10 iirc).

    The codebase must be so friggin' bloated, it's impossible to get 144 frames consistently anymore, and I have a very nice PC. I can't imagine how annoying/frustrating it must be for people with normal, 1-2k USD PC's, not to mention console players.

    I really hope this gets addressed.

  • Did anything ever come of the 'removed progress' penalties being applied? I haven't heard of any enforcement stats nor of any players complaining about reset progression for hourglass/guilds, which makes me think they didn't do anything about it.

  • Ahoy! Can we get an update on this? Do you have a timeline on when servers are going to go back up to normal ship/player capacity? Maybe they already have and I just didn't notice the announcement?
