@jak-4-ps4 Ok I just loaded up safer sea's for the first time... Wow that is straight up garbage that pulled out of a trash can.
Multiple character slots. Safer seas characters can only access safer seas and high seas characters can only access high seas servers.
I don't agree. Default game experience is high seas. The whole fun and thrill is in NOT knowing if you will encounter other crews and what will they do. Keeps you on your toes and that's what game was designed around.
Safer seas are an option and noone forces you to play on higher seas... also I don't see why you should be able to farm high value items and become "Pirate Legend" when you are so afraid of seeing other players.
Things are good as they are right now.Agree. I have PTSD (which I didn't know about prior to buying the game) and I love everything about the PvE, it's challenging for me at times and it's fun and I love treasure hunting and fishing. Really, I love doing everything except for PvP. It's hard to play the game because I'm easy to trigger and I freeze up in combat with other players. I've tried everything I can, 200+ hours in the game, and I can't improve at PvP at all because I freeze! I want all of the other game features because I love the game and the exploration and the sailing and I love taking my time doing things. There's not a single other game anywhere that matches SoT, so people telling me to just not play is so discouraging. I hope Rare considers people like us!

The only things you can't do is the FotD and the Burning Blade and raise an Emissary (which on Safer Seas wouldn't impact hat you can do, only the gold you get for turning in) isn't that enough ?
@lem0n-curry Nope. I can't use my ship and I cannot do emissary voyages which is my favorite part. 🤷

Raising an emissary comes with a greater risk of other players attacking you, why would that be four favourite part ?
As for your Captained ship, so you hvae to spend 5 minutes to put on the cosmetics ... ?
@lem0n-curry I like doing the VOYAGES. I don't care about the emissary level, I don't care about the additional gold. I love the PROCESS of the EMISSARY SPECIFIC VOYAGES. I don't like being a target.
I want my NAMED ship AT LEAST and MAYBE the ability to get ship commendations.
@lem0n-curry Also... why CAN'T we use our captained ship in Safer Seas? Why do we HAVE to spend that 5 extra minutes equipping cosmetics? Why not add saved slot options for ships instead of barring the ability to use saved items at all? It doesn't make QOL any better for anyone, so why not?

Those voyages aren't much different than the normal voyages, they're just grouped.

Incentive to play on Higher Seas - see the numerous other topics about Safer Seas; you can recognize them by the locked icon.
@lem0n-curry But why does it have to be that way, is my question? Players want these things and it would give Rare a bigger player base more likely to spend money. Support told me to post here about it anyway when I brought it up in an inquiry, I think there's merit to it. What incentive do people who hate the way PvP is played in this game have to play Higher Seas? They don't buy the game immediately knowing the way it works and by the time they get into PvP, it's often too late to get a refund so the game just collects dust in their libraries instead. I would only pay for the PlunderPass on Safer Seas, for example, but only if I find they're worth it. And with my triggers, it's not. My PTSD is the biggest reason I can't do Higher Seas, I'm not being obtuse on purpose. I want Safer Seas so I can play the game the same way I was, but without the risk of being triggered when I'm not prepared. I physically cannot even improve at PvP because my triggers make my body FREEZE and I CANNOT MOVE. PvE is still hard for me but at least it's predictable and has less chance of triggering me the same way.

It's developed and advertised as a PvPvE game, not a PvP or PvE, with Safer Seas it's now PvE or PvPvE. People should read what's on the tin before they spend money on it.
IMHO they went too far with Safer Seas, they could have known that even giving people a large fraction of the game with Safer Seas wouldn't stop people complaining about it not being enough.
