Why are there rewards only up to lvl 200 in both factions, and after lvl 200 it is completely empty, until you reach lvl 1000 in a faction..? I think more people would play "the hourglass pvp" if there are more to obtain in the pvp system. Like for example a new curse to obtain in the lvls . Legendary curse but imagine, Yellow eyes with a yellow tattoo on the chest, also new wepons, titles, hulls, trinkets, more commendations or new cosmetic themes etc. I do not know what your opinions are on this, but I feel Rare could add more to the Hourglass to increase players and as well contents.
Rewards of the Hourglass.

More rewards won’t bring people back unless they are achievable.
So far
- nobody plays because of cheats
- nobody new plays because the grind
- the early birds who got the curses all stopped playing.
(Haven't been caught up with SOT for a few months)
Yikes did Hourglass get that bad? Me and an Open Crew couldn't get any combat from it for hours till we just had to log off for the day. (we were in a Galleon) Made me wonder how anybody was able to grind for the curses outside of duo sloop.Galleons have always had the longest load times. Your best bet is to search during prime time or during gold and glory days.
Hourglass cheaters have become increasingly over the past few months. They are literally hacking the game creating teleporting gunpowder barrels and instant repair. The captaincy feature that allows instant repair of the ship is being hacked and used in battle. Naturally Rare has removed so many cheating accounts but they are alternate accounts that are created in minutes and used to boost someone main account who is hiding in the shadows.
Rare is working behind the scenes to better track and ban hackers but they have not disclosed any details.
As far as reward goes, I suspect something similar to the Triumphant Sea Dog update for the Arena years ago. They will most likely dump a bunch of new commendations and cosmetics for each faction. I would guess there will be rewards up to 500 and below 100. They may put top tier rewards past 500 instead of up to it

Because Rare knew that hourglass was unpopular: on-demand PVP isn't in-demand with this player base as illustrated by the 3% play time spent in arena. They put the most requested cosmetics since the inception of the game (the curses) as the first major reward simply to get pirates to try hourglass, knowing full well that most of us will grind them out during boosted times (Gold and Glory, Community events) then never touch the mode again. Most of the pirates in hourglass now are sweaty PvP'ers and cheaters, that would be playing this game mode anyway even if there were no more rewards after 100.
The thought was that hourglass is the end game content and it would take players a long time to get to level 100, and if the game mode were popular enough they'd devote time and money to creating more rewards for it. They have not created more rewards for it, so hourglass simply must not be popular enough for them to bother.
Despite what some said here, the rewards would attract more players.
I saw several players who stopped at level 200 because there was a vacuum in rewards until level 1000, Adding rewards periodically is necessary to keep the mode alive, I believe that next year we will have more skins available for hourglass.
I think they made the maximum level 10000 precisely to release more rewards as players level up, so the mode will not have an end.

Please Rare, add hooded cloaks!!!

The TRUE reason why there isn’t any rewards past 200 is because the average player doesn’t have the time to grind out hourglass. It’s supposed to take years to achieve the gold curse. The only people who have the gold curse are people who are PvP sweat lords and cheaters. Once more of the player base makes it to 200 Rare will add more rewards unless the mode dies like Arena

I took one look at the rewards model and was like, nope, not doing that. The skeletons could have been cool but without clothing they all look alike.
I got my reapers ship to milestone 60 to unlock the ship cosmetics and walked away.
The rewards should have started lower.
The rewards should have included clothing items for skeletons.
The phantoms were always hopeless, I mean you either like that look or not and there is not much to add.But the real bottom line is it is not that fun, anything you have to pay people to do they will stop doing when they get paid.
I think HG has been great for the organic environment but I dunno if they can really do a whole lot with it overall.
They'd never get someone like me to do it. Not because I find anything wrong with it but because it's everything that I have no interest in.
Contrived scenario
no real pve
repetitive/repeat opponents
I'll know my opponents right away or at some point
the randomness is very very low
I'd rather not have cosmetics than play how I don't wanna play
Incredibly inefficient way to play with the wait times and supp stuff and all that
I fight every day but it's gotta be random and interestingI think HG is great and hopefully it gets more attention as time goes on but I've said from the beginning when it was first announced, it's just not what many of us are here for in this game.
It's awesome for a random fight and to be used as a server hop or something, lots of potential there, but it's really not great as the "I gotta grind this out" content that so many treated it as.
and I don't even get fired up if I see cheaters and time grinds are easy for me, so to people that do get fired up over seeing a cheater and don't have the time it's even less appealing for others in those cases.

With the cheaters, maybe. There are many who don’t have the base curses. Unfortunately at least half of the player base claimed they will stop after LV 100 in their desired faction. I posted on the forum asking people to upvote one response asking if they would stop at 100 or continue past that.
As for me, I will continue with the hourglass until all commendations are completed. I’m working on the 500 faction ship sinks. Once new commendations are available I will work on them
Personally, I stopped months ago because I didn't like the progression system at all. I could lose in a few seconds or I could drag the battle for hours and the allegiance gained for it would be the same. It is also the same for me when it comes to winning, if I sink a loss farmer or if I had to play the best I can and avoid commiting mistakes the allegiance gain is the same.
For me it is not fun to have my effort and performance ignored because I had some closed matches, and some stomps but they are evaluated the same because of the win/loss system.
I guess that's why loss farmers existed back then, because no one without confidence in winning was willing to spend more time to get the same ammount of xp if they dragged the battle for too long ending in a loss anyway.
Another thing that turned me off from the mode completely is the fact that until I get to level 100 I won't see any meaningful rewards. I don't think I'll ever use the titles and I don't think I'll ever use the figureheads of the Pirate Lord or Flameheart. Until I get to 100 my only rewards are a figurehead every 20 levels and a title every 10. And since am not so good at PvP it is very likely that I would lose making the progress for each level extremely low.
I decided to leave the game mode and try other things, it wasn't worth for me personally. In the current state I assume it will just stay like it is for another 6-12 months and then we'll get a video from Mike Chapman telling us about how they made the difficult decision to close the Battle for the Sea Of Thieves Gamemode because
- only 2% or less players used it and
- those 2% were responsible for 99% of all the incoming player reports

Really not worth the time and anxiety.
