Ahoy,
Pirate tools in Sea of Thieves serve very important roles and we constantly use them.
However some of those tools feel like they are just there, for fun.
We currently have:
Compass: Used to determine your current direction. - Every pirate uses this all the time.
Bucket: Used to scoop water, or to catch vomit from drunken or sick pirates. Probably the most important tool there is.
Lantern: *Used as a portable light source and carrying Flames of Fate. Again, very important tool for PVE
Shovel: Used to dig for buried Treasure and Bait. Gold hoarders would ceize to exist without this one, very important
Spyglass: Used to see far off in the distance. Keeping pirates safe since 1608
Speaking Trumpet: Used to communicate with players from a greater distance. Very important for social interactions on the seas
Tankard: Used to drink Grog. This one has no purpose apart from fooling around, would be interesting to have this tool implemented into some new PVE quest instead of overusing the lantern all the time, perhaps we would drink some potion that would allow us to see something, similar to braziers during the veil quest
Pocket Watch: Used to tell the time and date. Useful for Merchant Voyage deadlines. Utterly useless imo, obviously during earlier days of this game, merchant quests were more popular than now, personally I never really had to use this tool in game and those quests are more for commendation hunters than the natural path most pirates choose when playing''
Fishing Rod: Used to catch Fish and Treacherous Plunder. You won't catch a fish with your cutlass, maybe not everyone uses this one, but those who do - sure love fishing
So what would you propose to make Tankards and Pocket watches more vital to the loop of the game instead of just being there for most pirates.
