Trouble viewing/submiting requests.

  • I'm running into an error where when i try to access my requests on the website i get a message saying i need to login even though i already am. I login anyway and it takes me to another page and when i try to view my requests after that it says i need to login again. How do i fix this problem?

P.S. For any mods looking to lock this thread
    "Creating Duplicate/Similar Threads
Multiple threads on the same or similar topics posted in "quick succession" is not allowed. "The most relevant thread will be kept open" and all other threads locked."
A month has passed since the other topic was posted and the other topic is already locked meaning this topic cannot be locked by your own forum rules. You wouldn't want to be a rule breaker would you ^_~

  • What browser and operating system are you using?
Have you tried to use a different device or OS?
Have you tried using an incognito tab?

Off the topic of the thread, but it needs to be said. Posting a new thread without adding any new context or information is just as bad as letting a thread get locked because you were told to stop bumping the topic.

  • @glibunicycle220 Seeing as how many people are having this problem across several browsers and OSs, i don't think the specific ones I'm using are the cause.

I wasn't told to stop bumping. Bumping is allowed on these forums. What i didn't know was that for some strange reason, on these forums bumps need to "provide additional information to the original post" and not be to a thread who's last post is older than 30 days. The second one i knew about and followed but i didn't know about the first one which is why the first thread got locked, not because i was told to stop (which i wasn't). I'll make sure that doesn't happen with this one.

  • So to clarify, you haven’t tried a different browser or OS?

  • @glibunicycle220 No, but other users here have used different browsers and OSs and are still experiencing the problem.

@abjectarity said in Trouble viewing/submiting requests.:

Multiple people have reported trouble with using the support system over the past few days.

So the problem is with the website not our browsers or OSs.

  • All that says is multiple people.

They could all be using Chrome on W10.

Have you at least tried using an incognito/private browsing tab?

You have asked for help in resolving the issue, yet when someone is trying to help you out you keep responding with the same “it’s not my issue”.

  • Multiple people have reported trouble when trying to file tickets, getting an error that prevents them from submitting the report. Your issue is a different one so maybe you should at least try the suggested solutions before dismissing them?

That's unlikely and i never said it wasn't my issue. please don't put words in my mouth.

That's a good point. I'll try that and see if it works.

  • @xshirahx It appears that accessing any page of the seaofthieves.com website while in incognito mode returns a error page saying

    Oh dear!

The Sea of Thieves website has encountered an error! Rest assured our web team are shouting at it and prodding it with cutlasses. Normal service will be resumed ASAP.

To find out more about the game, visit www.xbox.com/seaofthieves

To raise a support request, visit support.seaofthieves.com

  • What happens if you try a different browser and what happens if you try a different device (mobile for example)?

  • @xshirahx I don't have any other browsers but trying it on my phone i got the incognito message again.

  • So let me ask you this - have you had this problem consistently ever since you made the first post a month ago?

  • @xshirahx Sorta. It happened then stopped for a few days then kept happening and it's still happening right now so maybe it is inconsistent but i just haven't checked when it isn't happening.

  • same issue here. Servers went down a little while ago as well. Wonder if that has something to do with it.

  • Well, my advice at this point is to give it a little bit of time, then try again since it may yet again be a temporary issue. If it's not working within the next 24 hours, poke this thread again and I'll we'll try to figure it out.

  • @xshirahx I'm sorry but "poking" without "providing additional information to the original post is not permitted". And i don't want to get my topic locked again so i won't be doing that.

  • @sin-shadow-fox Let me clarify what I meant by "poking". You can reply to my post to say that it's been 24h and you're still getting the same issue, should it not start working correctly before then.

  • Just for the record (again....) Bumping is NOT allowed as specifically stated in the Forum Rules

    Bumping Threads
Bumping threads with content that is not providing additional information to the original post is not permitted. Resurrecting threads over one month old is also not permitted. A warning will be issued, and the thread locked. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

If there are updates/further developments, sure, but not just bumping for the sake of bumping.

  • @xshirahx Again I'm sorry but after having proven you don't understand the rules of this forum very well as evident from our previous communications and the eagerness of the moderators here to enforce the rules to the letter I'll be sure to obey the furthest stretches of the rules and the rules state "Bumping threads with content that is not providing additional information to the original post is not permitted". If you'd like to provide additional information to this post then please feel free too. If you'd like to elevate this issue to rare directly then that would be greatly appreciated but until this issue is finally addressed i will not risk it getting locked, sorry. Now please stop trying to get me to break the rules.

The forum rules do NOT state that bumping is not allowed. It explicitly states that any and all bumps are allowed as long as they are withing 30 days of the last post and provide any additional information pertaining to the original post. After you mislead me on the rules before, i made sure to become very familiar with the rules. Thanks for teaching me that lesson.

  • @sin-shadow-fox No one is trying to make you break rules, merely providing clarification and information.

Replying 'Bumping to first page' is NOT allowed, providing actual updates on the situation IS allowed.

No one is/has been misleading you.

Not sure which rules you are reading but the ones I quote and link to repeatedly do NOT 'explicitly state' that bumping is allowed, in fact, quite the opposite if anything.

  • @triheadedmonkey Actually Shirah is. As i stated before Shirah has mislead me in the rules which actually lead you and me to butting heads (which i apologized for)

As for the rule in question, pay attention this time: Bumping threads with content that is "not providing additional information to the original post" is not permitted. Resurrecting threads "over one month old" is also not permitted. Which means any posts within a month of the last post in that thread that DO provide additional information to the original post ARE permitted.

  • @sin-shadow-fox ....but 'Bumping to front Page' ...is not new information....

They were trying to say that you were able to post a reply on this thread if you had any luck/no luck in trying to fix your issues using the suggested 'fixes'.

If you want to continue berating and being rude to those that are trying to help, then I can simply lock the thread now.

  • @triheadedmonkey I didn't say 'Bumping to front Page' was new information. Shirah lead me to believe that new information wasn't required.

And they would be lying as that would also not provide new information and thus violate the rules.

I'm neither berating nor being rude and i have tried 2 suggestions so far. I'm operating completely within the rules this time so you have no power to lock this thread. Trust me, I'm going to follow the rules to the letter so you will be unable to lock this thread until a community wide fix is found.

  • @sin-shadow-fox said in Trouble viewing/submiting requests.:

And a "this has not changed since the last we spoke" is an update. Not just a message stating "bumping to get to front page" message. The first lets us know that something was attempted while the second is just a 'hey, look at this again even though I've done nothing to try and change the situation'.

Please do not try and tell the staff that we do not understand the rules. We enforce them, which means it's out job to know them. If Shirah gave out wrong information, it is more likely that she misunderstood the items being presented rather than not knowing the rules.

Finally, this will be your first and last warning from me. This 'you don't know how to do your job so let me inform you' business is going to stop. Immediately. You want people to help you, but then you choose to belittle, berate, demean and degrade them while they do it. Just no. That's not how things work and it's only going to make people not want to help you. So try being a little nicer, yeah?

  • @aerotsune Wrong on several accounts. First "Nothing has changed" is not new information.

Secondly I'm obeying the rules as they are stated as I've already been burned by them once already, I'm not going to wind up breaking them again because a mod or community manager in shirah's case misleads me again. If I'm wrong then the rules are wrong as that is what I'm obeying from now on so don't try to blame me.

I will not be intimated or threatened. I've been polite. I've taken and tried several suggestions so far and I'm eagerly awaiting more fixes from helpful users and mods. If you try to violate the forum rules by utilizing your power on a rule abiding user i will report you. Moderators are not immune to the rules. This is YOUR first and last warning. Now please stop trying to cause trouble. I'm trying to get help for eveyone here and your not helping.

  • Seeing as how my topic has moved off the first page of topics i think I'll "provide some additional information to the original post". I'm currently using Firefox v109.0 (64-bit).

    "Bumping Threads
Bumping threads with content that is not "providing additional information to the original post" is not permitted. Resurrecting threads "over one month old" is also not permitted."

  • @sin-shadow-fox Having looked into this, your access to Support seems to have been revoked. The details of this were in the final response you received from our Support team detailing the reason why.

    Dropping anchor here.
