New respawn times

  • What is with the new respawn times? Literally worst thing you could have done theres almost 0 punishment for bigger ships with how fast you respawn? You've basically made sloops irrelevant

  • The fast respawn does apply for all crews, but its a buff for bigger crews yeah. Navalling is everything now, unless you & you're crew mates are gods at holding a ship down while boarding.
Imo it should scale the bigger the crew size.

    • 1 man sloop - 15 seconds.
    • 2 man sloop - 20 seconds.
    • Bringantine - 25 Seconds.
    • Gallion - 30 seconds.
Right now, you kill the boarders on your ship & by the time you reach their ship by shooting/lunging over, they already respawned. Even tough revive was bad inough in pvp already, there no point in using it in most cases now.
  • I think no effort/investment chain shots will go down as the least positive/ most negative major decision/interference that was implemented but if this stays I think this will be the #2

Less consequence for boarding/camping attempts in a game where it's so popular and where the skill gap of combat is so massive.

This does nothing but makes it harder for the middle to get the occasional win they would get due to the consequence of death/failed boarding attempts.

There is a real disconnect in this game between the decisions made and who these decisions are affecting the most harshly.

Just another push against organic players that actually attempting to go through and rise through the food chain of risk/reward

The process of people with less people/skill going against overkill crews is not complex. Their only chance was boarder defense, make a few holes, and getting those one balls so they can eke out a win.
    Bizarre decision imo.

Everything about combat in this game caters to server hopping pvp. Do they really need more catering to? Do they really need a few more/extra tdm kills for sport?

If this is an attempt to push people that aren't involved with the social scene into crewing and bigger ships it will only cause them to quit or produce less.

This is absolutely the most obvious (you would think) method of handling spawn rates. It's really surprising to me this game has been out this long and spawn's still aren't layered into tiers depending on the number of crew. It just makes sense...

  • @frontlin3 Yeah this is something that needs a hotfix.

I disagree. As someone who spends a lot of time on the ferry, I love the shorter respawn times. It also gives me a better chance to save my boat when I die while being attacked. Thank you Rare

  • It’s horrible, who’s idea was this and who actually tested it? If season 7 has these respawn times it’s an easy miss for me.

  • I do not think they will do this. If they do it needs to be linked to the number of players. If you have a player drop up and you're 3 players on a Galley getting the time penalty would be unfair. Currently I feel the balance is fine.

  • When playing in a good closed crew of friends this change has really made us more of a threat;
you can afford to send over all but 1 crewmate to board and if the board fails the whole crew can be back before your ship is in any risk.

Sometimes its faster to send yourself to the ferry with blunderbombs or jumping off a cliff instead of catching a mermaid.
