We need private Servers

  • And again i lost my fun for this Game again, playing for four ours alone on my Sloop and are on the way back to selling. And then a Gally see me and hunting me. I have no chance vs. four other Gamers. So i get salty again, sorry but i love and hate this Game. Please give us the opion to play alone on a privat server or balanced the servers so only Sloops sails agains other Sloops... get frustraded...

Four hours worth of loot ?
You should have visited the outposts more often.

  • @lem0n-curry haha good idea, i tried so often when i am in near to a outpost.

  • @nxdata

If you would rather not have that sort of experience you need to turn in more often, keep your eyes peeled and try not to draw attention to yourself, so no emissary flags!

Seriously, quick scan of the horizon every 3-5 minutes from atop your canopy or end of your bowsprit even if you can't be bothered to nip up the crows nest. You'll have plenty of warning to at least sell the best stuff if anybody is on to you.

  • @wagstr so i have no chance to get my ambassador flags up when i am play alone.

Just don't sail around with more loot than you care to lose; e.g. having loot on board you found on the seas and barrels don't matter that much usually, but if you just spend quite some time defeating gold skeleton horde after horde for three villainous skulls - yeah can be a pain.

On a sloop sail against the wind with sails in default position - you're a bit faster than other vessels, you either gain distance or they have to maneuver to get to you.

Those flags can be spotted from miles away and they make you visible for a Reaper Grade 5 on their map. It's also a guarantee that they will have some loot if you get defeated, unlike non-emissaries that might have only a couple of worthless skulls.

How many more reasons do you want for the others to try to get to you and sink you and spend longer than usual in the attempt ?

  • @lem0n-curry i know i know, so i cant get the fun when i am play alone. So i need more people for playing and to be like unfriendly. Sorry i am angry :D

It's possible and not at all difficult to have some emissary level as a solo player - it's just harder to accomplish and it's at a certain risk - that's how it's supposed to work: more to gain when you risk more.

You might not get grade 5 every session and you might have to decide to sell when at a grade lower than 5 to make a larger profit than without emissary. That's the game.

Added: Why don't first get better at spotting ships earlier and get better at getting away from pursuers before you take on more risk ?

I'm about maxed out in exerything except Athena so I never bother with flags when solo, I am working on the stealth game and find it quite fun. When you have a bit more experience in both avoiding and dealing with trouble dependent on the situation it's fine (even encouraged) to fly emissary solo. High risk, high reward you see.

When I am in a crew and I'm sure it's the same for a lot of crews (but not all of course) we would normally only attack a ship if:

    • They attack us first

    • They are Reapers

    • They are emissary G3/4/5

If a ship is minding it's own business and none of the above apply we will generally leave them alone.

  • If you know you get upset by losing loot why do you stack it?

Stacking not only means more to lose at sea it also means much longer to sell at the outpost and increases the chances of not being able to get it all turned in.

As a solo pver you can be taken out at any time by just about everything under the sun. One unlucky moment can end it all. The double tap by the water kegs can happen at any time. The overly aggressive or glitchy meg can happen at any time. A cannonball to the face by a skelly/ship can happen at any time. PVP isn't the only risk solo there are many.

20-25 minutes max between sells would be a productive goal. Minimizes losses by minimizing unnecessary risk.

Most of the problems people have in a shared environment can be solved by people getting serious about making their sessions more likely to be less upsetting by taking proactive steps to adapt.

  • I'm sure most of these frustrations come from the fact that the aggressors ship is almost within cannon range before it's spotted too.

If you don't have to use your spyglass to work out whether it's a sail, a palm tree or a fort tower you're slacking..

    It's always the fort tower...

  • @nxdata Ahoy, going to be dropping anchor on this thread as there is a post about Rare's thoughts on PvPvE (including a link to the most recent Sea of Thieves Podcast that discusses it) here: https://www.seaofthieves.com/community/forums/topic/136693/pvpve-the-team-s-thoughts/1

You can read an article by Joe here in regards to Private/Custom Servers.

    Thank you.
