Merchant Alliance Commodities' Book needs a Visual

  • at the moment we have to click through the options to find out which islands have a "surplus/sought out" of goods. But we have to fiddle around, figure out where we are, and which islands are closest by going back to the ship and checking the map.

when we look into the book the map could be shown. additionally there could be a list of the outposts on the right and a visual of the resource that they're seeking.
or you could just have the map next to the table

  • I think I double this statement. It would be quite nice to get a visual representation of the trade routes, rather than just going through menus.

  • You can use rare thief's map here with a visual representation, but it's not really that hard to understand the book.

  • I don't see why we can't have a book on the ship that tells us where to sell.

  • You know? I had never thought of this before, but you're right. It would be pretty nice to have an actual book with visible trade lines rather than just having menus. And without having to rely on external third party stuff like Rare Thief as well.

The issues I see with using websites, is that the trade routes change every week and the websites have to manually update them.

If it were something in-game other than a menu, I think that could be pretty cool.

    I like this idea

Why not just a map at the outpost?

  • Step 1: grab a scrap piece of paper

Step 2: grab the writing implement of your choice

Step 3: write down what the book says

I think that is easier than cramming a map table on the docks. the more you play the better you will be at knowing which outpost is which from what it looks like, and where things are at on the seas in relation to each other. It's all part of the learning process, eventually you will only use the map to check for reapers, emissaries to reap, or where the heck that sneaky pirate hid the fort key.

  • It works perfectly fine as is - just learn where all of the outposts are in relation to each other.
