Briggsy's Difficulty??

  • Briggsy is so much harder on when you are on a brig vs on a sloop. I do not understand why! Like she literally took 50+ cannonballs to the face and a million hits with the sniper, 2 Gunpowder kegs and none of us died either. But on the sloop with two people we killed her with like 10 slices with a sword. Can I suggest making this easier? Took us 30 minutes to do the tall tale twice with a sloop but 30 min to do just the battle with Briggsy on a brig. Makes no sense why difficulty went from very easy to extremely hard. We finished the tall tales and all the commendations for it. But for future players, I feel like she needs to be scaled down a lot.

  • Well no duh, I get that! But they made it WAY harder than it should be... I guess you don't understand what I am trying to say. It was harder than the Ashen Wind boss...

  • They scale depending on what ship you have, on a Sloop you can kill Briggsy within 5 minutes and on a Galleon 10-20 minutes.

    The scaling is pretty scuffed.

    It's not like that at all on the Brig... 50+ cannonballs, sniper shots, sword swings, two gunpowder barrels... didn't go down til 30 - 45 minutes of start of battle...

    I've always found cannons and kegs to be overrated for bosses unless you just have some massive keg pile and sniper/pistol is mostly a waste of time imo

    I think constant and consistent sword/blunder combo from the entire team is way faster/more efficient in most scenarios

  • I assume that Skeleton lords have reduced damage from cannonballs as I haven't seen any changes to their HP's. I remember it takin ~5 minutes to solo them on sloop with blunderbuss when I grinded for the gold curse.

  • The reason balance is like this is because it is based on ship type and not how many players are currently in the crew. Same for kraken spawn. Could you imagine a solo doing it vs 2 people at the same difficulty level if it is meant for 2 people? This is why sloop is far easier than brig on tall tale bosses. You are going from solo difficulty (sloop) to 3 player difficulty (brig).

    Cannonballs are tricky as I believe that their damage fall considerably when you don't have a direct hit. Like in PvP where a cannonball straight to the face is a one shot while the splash damage, even really close to the impact, will be way lower than that.
    Getting consistant direct hits can be tricky : the waves, the boss can move etc and the shooter doesn't have much information since the hit marker disclaim direct hits and splash damages alike.

  • If anything I think they should make it harder.
