I was just in an Arena match with only one other ship active. I have a recording, but I suspect because they could hear me talking to my team mate, and the match was nearly over, they ran away from us before I could get a recording of how badly they were cheating.
Every cannonball they fired hit one of the two of us. It didn't matter if I turned the ship, or if we were in the crows nest, or if we were under water. The only time they missed was when they were out of range, and even then the cannonballs were spot on to hit one of us, if they had been in range.
The waves were pretty steep at parts during the match, and, as I said, I even turned the ship towards and away in order to try to get them to miss shots, but yet they managed to hit my teammate who was on the guns, then while he was moving back towards the guns, then while he was going over the edge of the ship, and then the cannon balls started flying through the ship and dealing damage of course right at him.
Then, after he was overboard, they hit me on the wheel, hit me again as I was off the wheel, and then hit me again as I fell off the back of the ship.
And then they repeated this over and over, and over, and over. Probably a hundred shots, and except when they were out of range, they never missed. Not one single shot missed hitting one of the two of us players.
Now, there's travel time (as we know) for cannonballs, and with big waves bouncing both ships up and down, and with me steering the ship left and right in order to dodge their shots, there's no way they could have predicted where the ship was going to be with that accuracy to hit us with 100% accuracy the way they did. There's no way they could plan for the ships, then again where I would be standing after getting knocked off the wheel, or how to hit me as I fell of the ship, or my crewmate the same on the gun, off the gun, and going overboard.
If it had happened once, that I was hit off the wheel, then struck again, and then hit by a ball as I went overboard, I would have thought it a funny chance, and in fact when my mate on the gun had reported being struck three times in a row like that, I commented about it being a funny chance. That they were lucky. It didn't even register in my mind the first time I was struck three times in a row. It didn't register that they were cheating somehow, until we were about 3/4ths of the way through the match, and I realized that every shot they fired had hit one of the two of us on the deck of the ship perfectly (except when they were out of range) and when I saw how accurate the balls were that landed in the water, and were out of range... how close they were coming to hitting me dead on.
Then, I rethought the match, and realized every shot had hit one of the two of us. They did manage to sink our boat once during the match, but for all the cannonballs they'd hit one of the two of us with, they hadn't sunk our boat. They even stopped firing when we were both dead, leaving our boat afloat, meaning they were targeting us, not our boat (in my mind). After all, if their goal had been to sink us, they'd have kept firing after we died, but they stopped. They only fired when were were alive and on the deck, and then bam! No matter were we were standing they hit me. When I went to the crows nest, they started hitting the mast... and when the ship finally sunk they hit me in the crows nest...
You reading this, you only have my account (and possibly the accounts of others, I don't know....) and so, sure, you have to take my word for it until you experience it for yourself.
I found it interesting how accurate people were with cannonballs at range when I first started playing, I thought it was amazing how well they could hit from afar, and I had planned on improving my skills to be that good. I sometimes land some really nice shots at range, but usually, at best, it's one out of maybe five at long range I hit with.
These players were hitting us at long range, with very high waves shaking both boats (and hiding the boats) and only hitting us players, not hitting the boat in random locations, and aside from when they were too far away, not splashing into the water. 100% accuracy onto players, no matter where they were standing, except when they were out of range.
I'm not going to say I won't play this game at all anymore, I have two friends I might hang out with in it, but it is certainly not a game I can't enjoy like I did before, and certainly a game I can't take seriously. With hacks and cheats like these, it's only a matter of time before this game is dead. So, please work on fixing them.
Thank you,
Sasuga
