My Minecraft pirate ship

  • Yo ho fellow pirates, a bit off topic but I made a pirate ship in Minecraft a while ago (on xbox) and I continually make improvements when updates roll out or an idea occurs. I wanted to see if @JoeNineTee or any others here play xbox Minecraft and might like to join and see if they can think of things my ship is missing.

Here's a preview of my ship. I try to find a balance between functionality with things like cannons that fire and tables you can sit at etc, while also keeping the aesthetic relatively accurate. There's not much space left to make additions, but I figure this community would be the perfect place to look for knowledge on the accuracy of a pirate ship.

And no need to be offended if I don't use specific ideas, I'm just very particular about my ships design since it's my favorite Minecraft project. Any constructive ideas/feedback is appreciated.

  • @Soulless-Rager Love it, so many details in there and cabins for everything!

  • Nice! Lots of attention to detail!

You need a sign saying "Cockboat", to be historically accurate of course.

  • Appreciate it lads (and lass, maybe?).

I was told once that pirate ships weren't as big as the one I built, and weren't so spacious. That's probably the biggest inaccuracy about my ship, though it was intentional. That and I'm sure the layout of the different sections is off. I don't know what the standard interior for a ship like mine should be, I just went with what made sense to me.

  • Exceptional. I've never played minecraft (probably a bit too old to start now), all seems so daunting, but I do enjoy looking at other peoples creations.

Thanks bud. Lately all I ever do on minecraft is add things to my ship or join other peoples worlds to check out their creations and maybe learn something or spark an idea for my own world.

It's a fun game, but it really needs a way to find and play with random people. The "looking for group" update coming to xbox should hopefully breath new life into the game.

  • This is brills. I love the fire shenanigans you've included.

  • Awesome! Although I don't think I'd wanna be the pirate that has to be up in the crows nest. I'd get vertigo! lol

  • Nice job.

  • @shaggiedo you are never too old to try a game. I do recommend finding someone to play it with though

  • Great work @Soulless-Rager !

Love the balance and approach you took to it, looks great :)

Sure, I'm on xbox though. Can always make a copy of the file for others to come build on.

I only know the basics with redstone. For a while I had a circuit set up so with the press of one button I could fire all the cannons on one side of the ship. Would love to see what you can do.

i am in full respect of the many, many hours of work you must have put into this making of your ship.
And you have every right to be proud on this accomplishment.
But ,and this is only about the Minecraft engine not about your great effort, doesn't this take you back into time ,those graphics look like the Original Doom back in ( i can't remember when Doom started).
i know Minecraft has a millions of fans but wouldn't they not rather have a gamebuilder with some newer graphics?
But once again ,and i mean that , no negativity on your accomplishment ,your patience to build this must be nearly endless.

No problem bud, thank you. It's not actually any kind of limitation on microsoft. The game was first made on PC. It's just an aesthetic style that was picked, kind of a simple retro look.

I'd recommend looking up the graphics mods some people use for the game on PC. There are some really impressive looking ones with amazing looking water, etc. I'd give you some links but I'm at work.

  • @Soulless-Rager i too am on xbox. And im a little rusty but had a cool system on a map with an elevator. That was pretty cool, and a waterfall basse that was covered with water and would open at the push of a switch

  • @Mi6-x-NeRo
Cool add me on xbox and we can play some time.
