Disguise yourself as a piece of cargo!

  • You cant open gold hoarder cbests as they have all the keys.
But you can open crates of spice etc as thats just sealed with bits of rope etc.

Holding the interact button long enough you trigger an animation where the pirate pulls out a dagger, opens the contents “sugar, spice or whatever”, empties it out and hides inside it.

Doing so will destroy this loot item for the purposes of selling but turn it into a clever disguise.

Other players will see you as the loot item you climbed into.
They can even pick you up and place it like a normal item too.

Need to board a nearby ship and they are on the same island as you? Sneak nearby and plonk yourself down as a bit of loot and watch as the crew carry you aboard!

You can move too. You sprout legs in a cartoony fashion. Think solid snake from MGS.

If somebody tries to sell “you” the disguise will be exposed and you will pop out. They can also slash the loot with a sword and give you damage.

If submerged you will not float but stay sunk and will start to drown.

You look identical to loot (as slight variations even subtle ones can be recognised and would render it useless to the experienced players)

You can hide in a variety of loot items from plants, open chests, most non gold hoarder loot etc.

If stealth is not your thing you could use the dagger mechanic to cause mischief by devaluing many of their unsecured loot.
Certainly beats throwing it overboard, would take longer too but hey its an option.

Thats all from me so far :)

  • @daringclarky No need, because you can already do it. There's a reason that you can clip through loot.

  • @galactic-geek You can clip through loot but you can't be carried on deck as a piece of loot.

Those two concepts are totally different.

  • @daringclarky this sounds waaaaay too OP!

yeah if that happens then it would be like the trojan horse

Our definitions of OP are different it seems.
If you simply inspect your loot you wont be affected.

Only fools would fall victim to this.
One sword slash would identify if its real loot or fake.

  • @daringclarky
So you want to check your loot all the time?

I very often check the ship swashbuckling every corner, i dont want to bother more about it because some people like tucking.

Btw abusing glitches and tuck into loot is not good sports.
    It's exploiting!

I have found a game for you, that serves you better than SoT i'd guess.
    It's called: witch it!
Fits the best for what you want.

Who said anything about glitching into loot? I certainly didn't.

Disguising yourself and hiding is like a proper guerilla warfare tactic.
It gives smaller crews or even solo crews something to use against a fully experienced 4 man crew.

I don't use exploits or glitches and I am a very good sport I can assure you of that.

I'm simply proposing an idea which is the intention of this part of the forum. To suggest I should play a different game based off that is pretty negative. You must remember it's a suggestion. I'm not a developer and have no real swaying power....unless I win the lottery and buy rare and the right for SOT! Which would be unlikely, I'd rather just buy a real ship and cruise the Mediterranean. So relax :)

You already have the mermaid which is like an extra crewman keeping a look out. So this will hardly change your experience at all.

  • @closinghare208 ha ha

  • @daringclarky Maybe to fix it from being "too OP", maybe have it jiggle every now and then, and have the spice/tea/sugar "spilled" around it. Like small grains of it.

  • @supersnipper60 I feel as though veterans would be able to spot it too easily.

I think if you look the same as the loot it's still not too bad.

If you ever doubt your cargo is legit just stab it and the pirate will pop out in pain.

Realistically this is something you won't hardly ever have to do. But it's not too bad.
