this game will probably not last long, if nothing is made to improve the PVP

  • it is kind of hard to apreciat a game when it is falling apart right under your feets, PVP is so broken i dont even want to play anymore, there is not one mechanics you can rely on to improve your skill on this game because everything is random, the spawntime depend on your system, your connection or server current will, there is NO fun in the PVP of this game when you framerate drop from 80 to 20 instantly right when you start aiming at a pirate, there is NO fun when you just try to slash a pirate with your sword but you are teleporting bacause af lag and he is too, there is just NO fun left in this game anymore, the only player left on this game are the same who play dayz or tarkov, the elitiste high end rig with so mush fps they dont even feel the drop when it goes down by 80 fps in seconds, they stay because they can blast others just because they can play the game without most of the issue xbox player and "normal pc player" have to face, this game will end like those poorly polished indie games nobody plays anymore exept some few "PVP starving toxic cutlas" and thats it, i uninstall this trash out of my pc (the only game that make my pc goes bluescreen in 5 years of flawless usage)

just a few tips for a real PVP experience:

respawn time should NOT be random

framerate NEED to be improve a lot(games looks like gamecube game but worse than MGSV ...like water is that gpu intensive???)

servers need to be A THING.....just teleporting in a pvp game is kind of a 2007 issue, WE ARE IN 2020..

sirens are a huge issue when you try to sneak and actually thief some loot on an annemy ship (sea of THIEVES remember??)

it just looks like pvp was rushed out and glued into the game at the last day of develloping in the most laziest way possible and now it is ruining the game because it was clearly not made for it.

  • Seems to me, its a user error. Drops in framerate tends to be your own pc, and lag spikes also..your own connection.

Again: simply seems it is the pirate, and not the sea who is at fault.

    • Just realized, he is a Founder. And now has problems?
  • No issues here and the game is already 2 years old...

  • @ndroidz said in this game will probably not last long, if nothing is made to improve the PVP:

it is kind of hard to apreciat a game when it is falling apart right under your feets,

Really? Because all I see are continued, and ongoing, improvements each and every month.

PVP is so broken i dont even want to play anymore,

It's not broken; it's better than ever. That said, there are still a few things to work out.

there is not one mechanics you can rely on to improve your skill on this game

Um, that's a good thing. It allows for versatility and choice. Besides, personal skill is separate from the game's mechanics. They don't necessarily go hand in hand.

    because everything is random,

I assure you that it's not.

the spawntime depend on your system, your connection or server current will,

This is the case with every game, platform, and network in the entire history of online gaming. Don't like it? Then either play offline or upgrade.

there is NO fun in the PVP of this game when you framerate drop from 80 to 20 instantly right when you start aiming at a pirate,

True, but why is that happening? Is it your TV? Monitor? Graphics card? Network? The server? Don't blame the game for something else that is causing the problem.

there is NO fun when you just try to slash a pirate with your sword but you are teleporting bacause af lag

That's a your network issue that you have to resolve.

    and he is too,

    ...and that is his issue.

Or maybe it's because of the desync between the 2 of you due to network disparities or a perhaps even distance is a factor?

there is just NO fun left in this game anymore,

I disagree - I have fun all of the time.

the only player left on this game are the same who play dayz or tarkov, the elitiste high end rig with so mush fps they dont even feel the drop when it goes down by 80 fps in seconds,

I don't play either of those games, and only have an Xbox, so... You're wrong and reaching.

they stay because they can blast others just because they can play the game without most of the issue xbox player and "normal pc player" have to face,

I destroy PC pirates all of the time - it's more about proper positioning, use of mechanics, and teamwork.

this game will end like those poorly polished indie games nobody plays anymore

Over 10 million pirates upon the sea, so I highly doubt it. Also, despite its issues (that no game is immune from), it's easily 1 of the most polished titles I know - and I own well over 800+ games, so I like to think that I know what I'm talking about here.

exept some few "PVP starving toxic cutlas"

So now you're blaming an individual weapon? And 1 that's better overall than it has ever been? Please... Stop blaming everything under the sun.

and thats it, i uninstall this trash out of my pc (the only game that make my pc goes bluescreen in 5 years of flawless usage)

Did you check the spec requirements before purchase?

just a few tips for a real PVP experience:

    I doubt it...

respawn time should NOT be random

It's not; it's 10 seconds for a revive attempt; 30 seconds on the Ferry.

framerate NEED to be improve a lot(games looks like gamecube game but worse than MGSV ...like water is that gpu intensive???)

Have you seen the amount of physics this game has to handle? Water, weather, ships, pirates, skeletons, megalodons, kraken, ghosts, ambience, lighting, animations, music, sound effects, pathing, collision, AI, network stability, and on and on and on. Quite frankly, I'm surprised that it works as well as it does.

servers need to be A THING.

They are - every session you play takes place on a server.

just teleporting in a pvp game is kind of a 2007 issue, WE ARE IN 2020..

Actually that's an online issue, 'cause physics, and it's ongoing.

sirens are a huge issue when you try to sneak and actually thief some loot on an annemy ship (sea of THIEVES remember??)

That's a design choice to promote balance - without it, there would be no challenge to stealth because it would be too easy (and become the meta).

it just looks like pvp was rushed out and glued into the game at the last day of develloping in the most laziest way possible

It has had its issues certainly - some speculate that it was released by Rare too early due to Microsoft's insistence. Sadly, we may never truly know. Still, as long as improvements keep coming, and we keep reporting on bugs and other issues, I don't really see the problem here.

and now it is ruining the game because it was clearly not made for it.

Tell that to the designers. They made it according to their vision; not yours. If you don't like it, you're more than welcome to go make your own video game and learn just how hard it really is.

Instead of trying to place blame on the game itself, 1st you must look inward - what are YOU doing wrong? How can YOU improve? Is it YOUR setup? How can YOU adjust your setup for better performance?

If after that, you're still having issues, then, and only then, can you blame the game. Even when you do, spouting nonsensically and emotionally while crying "the sky is falling!" on a public forum is not how you should go about doing things. Instead, observe, take notes, record, and report any issues you find to support.seaofthieves.com where you can start to enact real change that helps everyone that enjoys this game.

...and if you don't want to take the time or initiative to do that, then well, there are plenty of other fish in the sea.

  • Won't last long...

2yr old online game that's still growing...

    yeah lol silly billy

  • I'm sorry, but it's impossible to take any of this seriously when you begin with the notion that Sea of Thieves "probably won't last long." The game's over two years old and has never been stronger. If you want to provide feedback with any serious intention of improving the game, it would behoove you to avoid absurd, hyperbolic ranting.

  • @genuine-heather I was kind of thinking the same thing. Is the game perfect? No. But I, and presumably many given the vocal player base, seem willing to bear with any rough edges. At its core its quite a fun game. I have faith any continuing issues whether combate, pvp, balancing, etc will be addressed. Rare assuredly has a list of "to fix" and "to look at" with varying priority. Have faith.

I'd also note I've seen the "game is dying" threads since launch so I've become numb to them.

  • Still here

Wow. He must've been starving! 😧

  • @ndroidz
If your PC is 5 years old I'll bet you 4 bananas and a coconut it doesn't meet/barely meets minimum specs dude... Try it with a modern graphics card before you go off on one please..

  • the game has been lasting for 2 years fine and if your talking about the game dying like player count, most people dont play games for there popularity but cause they like the games

  • this game will probably not last long...

Any post that starts like this, instantly loses my interest. Predictions of Sea of Thieves imminent decline and demise have been made in these forums since it was launched two years ago. It is going from strength to strength.

i uninstall this trash out of my pc

my pc runs MGSV flawlessly...your argument is just invalidate

  • @ndroidz

    Okay bud. :-)
What GPU, CPU and RAM in it?
    Answers on a postcard please!

  • @galactic-geek i am playing wrong, i shouldnt play this game at all, not until they fix all thoses issue i mentioned, he game is already 2 years old and not only me( all my 4 frieds i play with) are experiencing the same broken stuff, it s not my pc the problem, others pc get the same

  • @wagstr the game is only 30 fps on xbox, MGSV and R6 siege are both 60 fps.....doesnt it sound strange???

  • @ndroidz

Nothing to do with the issue at hand. This might help.

    alt text

  • @wagstr even if my pc is a bit too weak to play this "next gen gamecube game" my friends are experiencing the same issue with a far more powerfull rig than mine, the devs are just too busy at making cosmetics to buy for taking time to optimize the game and make it run fine as it should run for the graphical style they choose to go with, seriously the game looks like a ps2/gamecube game with a few shaders throw on it to make it shine but it is harder to run than destiny 2 and is like 50 go just like destiny 2......something is just wrong with that

  • @ndroidz

Funny how my laptop runs it fine on mythical then and the sub £400 machine I bought for my lad does too on a rare/mythical mix... Ultra-playable on both, no complaints.

The sea and mechanics of the game means there's a lot going on other than just textures and fancy lighting, you can't compare it to other titles just on looks.

  • @ndroidz

☠ censored because of insiders - sorry. ☠

  • @bugaboo-bill yeah deep strategic and tactical....just going on others ship and spwnkilling until they sink wow what a strategic move XD what a joke ^^ you make me laugh so hard i cant even feel my jaw anymore, you must be talking of another game for sure

  • It's lasted for 2 whole years at this point I don't think it's going anywhere

  • @ndroidz sagte in this game will probably not last long, if nothing is made to improve the PVP:

    dev quote ¯_(ツ)_/¯¯

edit: need to delete it, was from insiders - sorry @Deckhands

  • PvP is still fun for me on xbox.

  • I play on Xbox and barely have any problems with lag or frame drops. So it’s most likely user error
