Just finished a session where we ended up being hunted by 2 reaper ships, both sloops. We were also in a sloop. One of the ships we managed to sink, but the 2nd one seemed to have a strange ability. We were attempting to flee to an outpost to sell our stuff, however time and time again we'd outmaneuver this ship, get a nice lead, with the wind, sails turned with the wind, so going maximum speed, and nonetheless every single time ittd very quickly overtake us
Their ship should have been equal in every way, and we were going maximum speed, but every time it was catching up to us like we were sitting still
Then, finally we had a stroke of luck when we managed to snipe one of the gunpowder barrels in their crows nest. Their ship was rocked, their mast went down and they were dead in the water. We zoomed off towards the nearest outpost and could literally see them still very far off behind us, still stopped and fixing their ship when we stopped at the outpost. We start quickly unloading our treasure, and selling it. Maybe a minute passed at most. And no joke, they suddenly come pulling around the outpost like they were only seconds behind us, and started shooting
At first I thought maybe it was the other reaper ship, but as soon as we started fighting them we realized it was the same guys
There is NO way they caught up that fast, let alone somehow sailed at twice the speed as us WITH the wind, unless they are either getting a major boost for being reapers, or someone is using some sort of hack
