Pretty self explanatory. When playing alone, running into skelly ships is a game killer. It sucks the fun right out. I tried to shake one for over 45 minutes before I just turned the game off... probably won't play again for a while. I just got back into the game and this killed my desire to play again. Why is there not a time limit, where they will stop bothering you after 15 or 20 minutes. Or they will leave you if you dock at an outpost. This is a severely broken mechanic for those that want to use the game to kill time when they are alone.
Skeleton ships make solo play unbearable
Fight the skelly-sloop. They are extremely simple to take out.
Aim at the cannons and they wont have a chance to shoot at you at all and maybe shoot a fire or two around their cannons so they keep dying to the fire.
Takes like 10 cannonshots to take them out if you keep putting pressure on them and they reward you with some crazy loot for the little effort it requires.
I disagree, that it's a game killer... I mean, playing SoT at all requires you to accept the inevitability of running into aggressive players; which is no different than encountering a skelly ship by surprise... and arguably much easier to deal with.
As others have said, they can be quite lucrative to take out; but if you're somehow a passive player and only care to run; they really aren't that hard to kite into a nearby rock/island and drop aggro, IMO.
Sloop vs Sloop is not that difficult. You hit 6 - 8 of your shots and they typically done. Not sure what the issue is here.
I would actually like to see more Ghost ships, but in reality at slow points of the game. Not when I have a Kraken, Meg and the world after me lol.
Just sink it. Sloops or Galleon skelly ships are easily sinkable solo. Ram into them, hit their lower decks. Easy.
Just fight it you are a pirate... it will not take very long and they drop decent loot. Why else do you have cannons?
My main activity as a solo is to fight the skeleton fleets. Unbearable seems a bit excessive to say.
If you hear the music raise your sails.
If solo have cursed green cannonballs and fire bombs
available.
You raised your sails to about 20% so your moving but not that fast.
When they raise up out of water shoot em up with 3 normal Canon balls in the bottom of the ship. Switch to green cursed and hit the bottom again to keep them from repairing.
At this point if you have time shoot the top deck with a firebomb to keep them from shooting you . Start firing again in the bottom deck with normal canon balls then a curse green. All as needed.Galleon skelly ship you want to run use a blue curse...anchor ball or the sail one. Aim for islands or rocks to keep them from following you. A lot of tactics out there... 1 out of 4 encounters u will be sunk. Have a row boat to save your loot and supplies. Use supply cRates to hold all your supplies don’t use ship barrels to hold your stuff. U sink it’s gone.. Crates float up after your ship sinks.
Park you row boat where u kNow where to find it. Take mermaid to new ship get your stuff. PVE is out to get you and sink you. If you can’t handle it play HayDay it’s less stress.
