It would be really cool if you could buy skeleton ship sails, a hull, wheel, etc., maybe even being able to buy the cool lanterns they have. You could just start sailing toward your enemy, and they're like "Oh, it's just a skeleton ship. We've got this." Then you surprise them with human-like tactics, catching them off-guard. This might un-balance the game a bit though, since you would be able to catch them off-guard more easily.

Yeah would be cool if you beat multiple waves of skeletons on the current ship and then could unlock that ship as your main ship for the session or until sunk.
@starquest I think that is kind of a bad idea only because.. lets say you are running a sloop and you just finished killing the last ship to get the skin and you are solo and you are sailing away and a galleon shows up and sinks your ship.. now you have to go and kill all the ships again and it seems very unrewarding.. I think away to approach this would be to unlock the skeleton ship skins through commendations like "sink 100-300 skeleton ships" to unlock the skin, thats what i think the idea should really be.

That's not the idea I had in mind. You get on 1 skeleton ship. You kill its crew a few times. Captain then fights you. You down the captain. Then you have the chance to take the ship as your own. Either way we already have the skeleton ship figurehead. They probably dont want to allow players to have the exact ship set and in no way will your ship look like one as it has different geometry in tje form of those towers.
