Hey there!
This will just be a short post, was wondering if there have ever been thought of adding a "Music slider" or "Adjuster" for the main menu music? i think the music is really good, but a tad too loud for my opinion.
What do you guys thing?
Edit: I think the current loudness of the music in-game is fine, it's just the main lobby music.
Speaking of menu music, I hate how the sound is muffled with the in-game menus. For example, whenever I'm switching back and forth between a storage or supply crate and a barrel on the ship, I can hear the audio of the waves go from SSSHHH to ssshhh every time I enter and leave the containers. It's really annoying on the ears!
I don't think entering a container's contents menu, or any menu for that matter, should muffle the sounds of the world around you. Awareness is key, and this is an artificial means of stifling that awareness, and that's not cool.

You're totally right. The music volume of the starting screen/lobby is insanely loud. Why doesn't that get fixed? Audio is probably the most important thing when it comes to a good game experience. It shouldn't be that you're genuinely aware of being shocked everytime you start the game.

..and in addition: it doesn't make sense that these sounds are changed whenever you open a barrel. Maybe they want to "imitate" the surroundings like when you put your head into a barrel e.g. and then you don't hear everything clearly around you anymore. But that is not what you do ingame anyway, I suppose. It's really not a pleasing experience, you're right.
