Summit1g not happy with "sword meta"

  • Says the streamer who consistently uses the double-gun exploit. Yeah, okay guy. He's bagged on SoT before; so wishy-washy. The game is fine as it is. God forbid the pirates finally use swords.

Personally, I have not had an issue battling another pirate with swords. No one in my immediate Discord/friend group have had any grips whatsoever either. I cannot take this guys word seriously, as he isn't even loyal to the game anyway. C'mon man.

  • Who cares?

Who would even write about this seriously?

    I care.

In that case, ask the guy who wrote a legit article on it.

Why do you care about how some steamer feels about the meta, especially when word around is he's a pretty whiny dude about the game in general.

And also.. yeah thats what I want to know.. how is this a legitimate article

  • He sounds like my 5 yo crying when someone kills him in Roblox.

  • For his rant, one of the things he did mention, was additional ladders on Galleons. I can't say that I am against the idea either.

One could make an argument from the game design perspective it makes sense. Everything, for the most part, scales when the ship gets larger. Bigger ship more sails, bigger ship more space, bigger ship more cannons. Bigger ship more points of entry isn't that far off. A third ladder wouldn't be that odd in my opinion.

You do notice when you face good crews with avid boarding defenses that boarding just outright stops. I could definetely see a benefit to adding another point of entry besides rams and un-reliable cannon boarding.

  • Anyone have a working link to the vid itself?

  • What game did he make?

  • Sounds like he's just whining to me. It's been proven that when you get angry, your IQ drops. Looks like he's making stupid mistakes. He thinks he can just rely on his reflexes. TTK in this game is super low with the blunder being a one shot and you can hit a pistol shot and pull our your sword and kill a guy super quick. Deal with it, dude.

    who cares except the devs

  • I feel having "Slot 1" locked to a sword and "Slot 2" locked to a choice of gun would balance all this griping out.

nope double gunning has been sort of fixed

On the contrary, I heard it's now a bit easier to pull off rather than being fixed. Although, I personally wouldn't know. I've never attempted to double-gun.

  • @weepaperboats It's embarrassing to watch someone who can't ever accept being defeated and needs to pin the blame on something other than themselves every time they fail.

The great thing about Sea of Thieves combat is that everyone is of equal power and the only way to get good is to learn from your mistakes and do better next time.

This isn't a game to play when angry, it's slow paced, methodical and tactical. PvP wont help relieve you of any pent up anger or aggression, he needs to go play a shooter or punch a bag instead.

well I hope they fix it then

  • This is what happens when developers try to snuggle up too closely with a streamer. He feels elitist and the developers have given him a sense of incredible value. I don't really understand why people waste their time watching him.

During one of the SoT watch for award events, I witnessed a guy climbing a seapost ladder and getting a blunderbuss to the face. He throws his controller and starts rage quitting yelling "stream snipe". The guys are egotistical children who immediately blame everything but themselves for their losses. I really wish Rare would reduce their dependence on this platform.

Dont get me wrong, I like the arena tournaments. Especially when its public entry. Just dont make us watch children for cosmetics. I get enough squeakers in open crews, I dont want to watch summit too.

aye he does and in one rant he wanted the game to die but he keeps coming back to it and still he thinks the game should die
