Now that the merchant alliance has been patched, are there any remaining good ways to get gopd quick?
Any good ways to farm gold solo now?
@christhulicia I mean I get 6-10k an hour just doing missions and hitting sunken ships until I have 10 or more chests.
@mrbrocksego You must be high level or hold special favour with the RNG god's, because I'm lucky to manage 1k in an hour.

Good Lord. Are you hitting all the sunken ships you see? Picking up all the gunpowder kegs? Actually doing the voyages? I make about 8k in a couple hours casually sailing.
I make about 5-10k per hour just sailing a sloop around hitting up sunken ships, randoms chest spawns on islands, collecting golden animals and messages in a bottle. Once I have a good amount on board I activate a merchant voyage with golden animals and head to the outpost and turn them in. I usually stay away from the big islands like Thieves Haven and Plunder Valley, they are to big and I spend to much time on them which is what drops me down to 5k/hr. I also avoid riddle maps unless they are a quick one and at an island along my route.
Not great money but still within what I consider acceptable.

@jimmy-voorhees Yeah, I can be doing 3 gold hoarders voyages back to back, stop off at shipwrecks, and still come in with 2 or 3k for around 2 hours' play. I get sooo many seafarer's chests 😅
start sacrificing a gold pig at Karen's fall every day. Lol.

As a solo ninja, my best advice; 360 horizon search every 5 min. If you see anything note the heading and look for spyglass reflection. If heading your way, leave. You can always come back. You can't get your loot back once lost.

@mr-spiderhead Only between 14 and 22. I seem to get the best stuff from sunken ships, usually a quarter of the time something great a quarter one seafarers chest. I get about the same ratio per island. I'd guess I'm at about 1 ship every 2 islands
I usually hit an island every twenty minutes or so, lets say I'm averaging 3 islands and 2 ships in just over an hour. Most islands give me 2+ booties per, boats probably average about the same.
doing that math thats looking at 10 booties on the low side, with a quarter of them being worth 700+.
Even on my lowest accounting you'll net about 3500k an hour, though like I said I usually get more than that.
@mrbrocksego I'll have to keep a closer lookout for sunken ships - I don't see them anywhere near as frequently as that.

The spawn points for shipwrecks don't seem to change much so once you learn where they appear it is just a matter of adjusting your route to pass by them. I also typically stay away from The Wilds. It is much easier to see things in The Shores of Plenty region and The Ancient Isles.
@lifewcoke Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the Wilds either. It's plenty atmospheric (and it'd be the perfect stage for a fight against a sea serpent is one gets added at some point), but a little too gloomy for my tastes. I kinda have a phobia of water at night, so dark water of any kind makes me uneasy 😅
Keeping an eye out for shipwrecks and looting them as a priority has definitely upped my gold per hour in my last session tonight. Still not getting any marauder's or captain's chests, despite getting loads a few days ago, but hey, an improvement is still an improvement 😂

On top of his advice, I'll add that any time you stop re-raise your anchor with your sails up before going ashore/underwater. Your boat will still stay in place, but you can make a faster getaway if need be but just dropping sails, which is faster than raising anchor.
