Sail Burning

  • You can read my other post here about cutting sales with knives but I think it would also be cool for them to be burnable.. https://www.seaofthieves.com/community/forums/topic/181921/sail-cutting.
Pretty much the entire ship is burnable, including the mast, so why shut the sale , not be burnable as well. This would disable their wind , and they would have to row or drift along , for even swim to / cannon over to nearby outpost or see post and buy another sale for 5 thousand gold

    Yeeeaaa….

  • Nah. Let's not add yet another way to completely cripple ships so they can't maneuver or run away.

  • @polarsteamtv You'd seriously expect an hourglass winner to swim.... to the nearest sea port just to buy another sail so their ship could move?

  • @europa4033 noo it would just be cool. Maybe a sepqrate server with tons of game modifications including this. I should have specified.

  • At most a burning mast could slow the ship down a bit, but there is no way after putting it out your sails should not work at 100% until going back to an outpost. This would be a nice addition if we ever need a buff to sloops or nerf to gallies. For now I think its fine as is. Fire bombs are the counter to bone callers.

  • So we need 3 ways to disable a ship from being able to move? You can already burn a sail down, it just isnt a permanently debilitating thing that takes you stopping the entire game to undo the issue. No one wants to have to loosely drift or swim to an outpost to pay 5k just to get back into the game. I can say if they added it, that no one would want it, including you the first time you have to do so while far away from any outpost.
