It was around 3AM, and me and my crewmate were grinding away at some Hunter’s Call rep—just casually fishing and knocking out skeleton camps. We were both half-asleep, the seas were calm, and the only light came from the moon and our lanterns.
Suddenly, we hear it… that familiar, ominous music starts playing. A Megalodon had spawned. We both turn to the water and spot a pink fin cutting through the waves.
Both of us, in perfect sync, shouted:
“IT’S THE GHOST! IT’S THE GHOST!”
My crewmate instantly drops the anchor. I launch myself onto the cannon like it's my life's purpose. We’re both wide awake now, adrenaline pumping, screaming with excitement.
Then, as the Meg starts to charge… we finally get a full view of its body.
…It’s purple.

The ship goes silent. I slowly start raising the anchor while we both just sit there in disappointment.
We still laugh about it every time we load up the game. One day… one day it will be the Ghost.
