Not asking for it to be the game, just asking if people would want the mode available. I realize the danger is that it pulls too many people from the original vision of the game, aka Fortnite.

if you wanna Play battle Royal you can still fortnite or Pubg we dont Need this in our amazing pirate life

This game doesn't need "modes". It isn't Fortnite, PUBG, or anything along those lines. It stands on its own, let it. The developers talked about community events and the such, I hope that is the closest we get to "modes".
Would I mind it being added as a separate mode?
No, not as long as it didn't hinder upkeep and added content for the main game.
Would I play it?
No. The PvP part of the game is fun, but not my main interest in the game. Also, the battle royale template seems like an ill-fit in SoT. I'm sure it could be made to work, but there's lots more stuff I'd rather they be working on first.

h1z1 popularized the genre and it used to have a nice zombie survival part, after a while every streamer was playing the battle royale part. survival, the game as it was supposed to be, became a ghost town. eventually they split the game into 2 separate ones and it died out.@retto-elbaroda said in What do you think of a Battle Royal mode within the game?:

Oh, I didn't realize I was making an argument for it. I was just asking out of curiosity. I don't play either game.

@MattyDove74 no. Let SoT thrive on its own unique style of gameplay. Stop trying to turn this game into something it isn't. You already have Fornite, PUBG, Rust, Dayz, The Culling, and whatever open world PvP games that are out there with a battle royale.
Again, I don't play those games. I am just asking the question.

there was not much of content in the betai had much fun but what are you gonna
do if you are max lvl factions?there is only that much you can repeat
every map over and over again
before its getting boringi dont want to offend some
people here that want a game that is uniquebut its still a better idea then have nothing on
launch or in the futuremaybe i change my mind after the NDA lifts
and i see some real gameplay/content
what is planed but so far im not pleased@mattydove74 I am against it honestly. This is more of an MMO style game (yes I know Rare try's to avoid that tag but its still in the essence of the game itself). Sea of Thieves isn't an arena shooter, and its not really been marketed as such. I think it would turn people away more than it would bring them in.
