@mattydove74 I am against it honestly. This is more of an MMO style game (yes I know Rare try's to avoid that tag but its still in the essence of the game itself). Sea of Thieves isn't an arena shooter, and its not really been marketed as such. I think it would turn people away more than it would bring them in.

so far i whoud welcome any feature/mode
there was not much of content in the beta

i had much fun but what are you gonna
do if you are max lvl factions?

there is only that much you can repeat
every map over and over again
before its getting boring

i dont want to offend some
people here that want a game that is unique

but its still a better idea then have nothing on
launch or in the future

maybe i change my mind after the NDA lifts
and i see some real gameplay/content
what is planed but so far im not pleased

You don't have to do it that way. PVP / Non-PVP Servers/maps and Server Events/Map Targets in PVP servers... that said i would very much enjoy a Battle Royale version of this game. You should look towards GTA/World of Warcraft for inspiration not PUBG.

Yes, but small ships only with limited ammo on the ship itself. Perhaps you could kinda liberate an island and control it to wait for enemy's. Like holding up a house in PUBG.

I can imagine this mode: every hour on the hour 30 ships are merged into one map and PUBG style battle royal begins. Sounds fun. Will it happen though?

I'm in favor of the idea, but only as something optional.

Lots of people here seem to hate pvp, which makes no sense to me. Without PvP the game it just, get chest, sell chest, repeat. Mine numbingly boring.

no, as you said those games already exist.
h1z1 popularized the genre and it used to have a nice zombie survival part, after a while every streamer was playing the battle royale part. survival, the game as it was supposed to be, became a ghost town. eventually they split the game into 2 separate ones and it died out.

No, not as long as it didn't hinder upkeep and added content for the main game.

Would I play it?

No. The PvP part of the game is fun, but not my main interest in the game. Also, the battle royale template seems like an ill-fit in SoT. I'm sure it could be made to work, but there's lots more stuff I'd rather they be working on first.

Not asking for it to be the game, just asking if people would want the mode available. I realize the danger is that it pulls too many people from the original vision of the game, aka Fortnite.

This game doesn't need "modes". It isn't Fortnite, PUBG, or anything along those lines. It stands on its own, let it. The developers talked about community events and the such, I hope that is the closest we get to "modes".
