I'd just like to say that this is a suggestion and would never see this coming to the full game.
Me and my crew have all played the maiden voyage tutorial and we came across the pirate lord's rowboat dock area and we were thinking how cool it would be and how interesting it would be if we could make hideouts of our own. You can buy things like traps, doors and bridges from a brand new hideout store for varied prices. You would be able to buy things like spike traps or swing traps or a dock area which fits any ship. You'd be able to buy things like walls which lift up by lever or pulley systems. You may ask, where would these hideouts be? Let me explain. Let's say in a server you have rock A and Rock B. Say in one server you choose to inhabit rock A (which is in the same shape and position in every server) ( You can only purchase a hideout if three of your factions are above level 15) then for whatever reason you go to a different server, you would only be put in a server where rock A is available. The first person to be in any crew is the person who's hideout would be selected to spawn.
Every hideout has to have a vault which you can choose to leave any kind of loot in for about 2 minutes to sell. This vault can be opened by anyone in any crew in the server without needing a key or anything.
When you purchase a hideout, you must select: Gold Hoarders, Order Of Souls, Merchant Alliance, Bilge Rats, Athena's Fortune (legends only), Hunter's Call or Sea dogs. (Chosen faction can be changed for 200,000 gold). Your chosen faction's icon would be displayed on any banners, flags, markings etc. across your hideout. You would also be able to purchase a bar area in your hideout but every time you refill your tankard you would be charged 200 gold to pay the tavern lady.
This is just a fun little suggestion so please don't take it too seriously.
