I would love to see Sea of Thieves supporting Reshade in the futur. Right now it's sadly not safe to use it, if you don't want the risk of getting auto-banned... That could give players the possibillity to make the game even more beautyful than right now.

I recall ReShade being the cause of players being banned from another game I played, prior to SoT. The issue is that it can be used to display things that give players an advantage over others.
If you want the game to have better effects, then ask for that. There is no need for third party software.

Yeah this 3rd party software works probably the same way stuff like wall hacks works, by injecting into the display pipeline and forcing features on/off. I don't think any game "supports it" outright.
