It would be nice if we could change the appearance of the Pirate!
For example, i didn’t knew that there is no way to change this later, so a picked up a random Pirate at the start of the game. Now i can’t change it and of course i do not want to delete him and crate a new one because I’m gonna lose all the progress I’ve made...It would be nice if you can change this!

I am personally happy with the avatar I picked; however, I know there are many who are upset because the character customization was very poorly done. The random gen thing is no fun. It took me literally over an hour to find a ginger character with a broad chest and teeth. They are adding the options to add and customize scars and tattoos, and I believe a character customization option might come down the line as a micro-transaction feature with a free edit for players before the patch or something.
i sat there for 8 hours....to later find out mine had Asians eyes...it had a glass eye, some tattoos, a broad chest, but not crazy broad, black hair, i mean, it was perfect...till my friends pointed out i had Asian eyes...then i felt dead inside....
I would like not just a reroll...but an item to change a very certain part of your character, like race, body shape, hair color, etc etc
I feel ya. Although, I didn't spend too much time creating my character because I wanted to get out on the sea. I've said many a time that I would like to have just one chance to go back and really choose my appearance, considering now all the pirates I've crewed up with or come across on many adventures. I get a little jealous of how some look. Of course losing all my progress is not an option at this point. I do know the devs spent quite some time really fine tuning the character creator to assure that all and any random attributes would be without defects when added along side another. It is kind of a shame that all that time spent perfecting it and we can't pick and choose each attribute individually. Hopefully down the line the devs will allow at least one full character appearance redo (without the lose of progress) or allow players to pay in game currency to change your character appearance.

I have an almost perfect character as well...except for 2 things....first my size...I mean I am not fatshaming my character but she has so broad shoulders even some men cannot compete against these muscles :P cannot even wear a dress without looking like some sporty fitness girl staying in the gym all day looking like a bodybuilder, but still wants to look girly XD
and the second which I did not SEE until I created and people pointed out...I have freckles all over my face O_o
So I also hope for changing only certain aspects of the body (rare said there may come a potion in the MT that would make you old) so maybe these will come as well :D

My situation was opposite to yours. At launch I started with a scoundrel of a pirate. White guy, typical V-back physique, only a little wonky.
By the second day I was having misgivings about my toon, so I sacked him. I fully embraced the IPG, and ended up with a Pacific Islander pirate with a slanted aye and a glass eye, some upper body musculature with a slight beer gut. An acceptable level of wonkiness. A more comfortable character.
I think it's likely Rare will have something available for players eventually.

@lady-aijou and I guess making racist remarks are acceptable? Thanks for the warning but you need to recognize what your priorities are, especially if you are a Rare employee.

@diinoozz yeah I agree. You could have it so its like the equipment/clothing selection interface in which you can select a selection of features. I don't think it would be a good idea to have sliders like Skyrim as it isn't really ideal for this game.
@ve111a here we go again, glass eye, few nice tats, the Asian eyes are small, can barely tell theres a glass eye because of it, felt dead inside because i thought my character was awesome then the small things stuck out and i wanted to cry.
I'm kind of satisfied with my character.. Just wanna get rid of the black hair which i thought I was gonna be able to change after choosing my pirate. Skin tone is a lil' to dark to but I can live with that.. That's wha' ye get from runnin' around on sunny isles all day. :P Just want my blond hair.. 'n i'm a Happy SeaDog! ;)
I spent more than 4h hours to pick my character, all the ladys were so ugly to me i was kind of desappointed so i picked the one that was the closest to my liking (or thought so) but once IG... she is so ugly, i just can't stand her face :s so i would really enjoy being able to change her.
My husband picked his character rather fast but didn't notice he had Asian eyes either, if he could he would like to change his character because of that, not because of any form of racism, just because that's not the way he wanted his character to look (which i think is pretty much the same for Onyx).
Me on the other hand i would love to have an asian or black female character with white or red hair because that's what i usually make and play with and what i love the most.
People just have their own ideas of how their characters should look, no racism involved, stop pointing fingers at ppl for nothing.
@onyx-wartooth don't mention that people...i can't see anything racist there, some people just have issues and see in anything that belongs to other skin color or whatever a racist comment
