Then proceeded to spell out words one by one. Swear words. Some really nasty stuff about my mother and that.

I was confused and amused so replied an expletive back as a full word.

The person reported me for swearing and xbox gave me a 24 hour communication ban. Upon reporting them back, you cant as all you can report is each message (i assume as to why he was sending single letters) The context of the messages i reported were single words, cant get them wrong for that i guess. Which is strange, you should be able to send the whole ream of messages but whatever, its done now.

By the time it takes me to appeal it i’ll be un banned but it means for 24 hours i cant join or create posts on xbox for a crew.

So watch out for that, some people will be likely baiting you to do this. Not everyone mind but i guess there are people out there like that. Not all too common thank god.

On the plus side, xbox reacted immediately so if somebody does swear in full at you it gets sorted right away. At least in my case.

Lesson learned. Dont reply or swear back. You’ll be punished.

This is part why I have messages set to friends only.

just block him next time or do not reply, these people who DM after loosing are not worth even talking to.

If you had outlined what they said and how they said it, I’m almost sure that Xbox would be able to read the whole thread.
Surely they read the thread when reporting anyway just to get some context on the conversation? Maybe I’m wrong.

You can report for spamming instead.

Odds are some streamer popularized such a method to troll, and here we are again, all because streamers can easily promote extremely toxic behavior in game kinda ruining the experience for a lot of people.

Nah it wasnt a streamer.
Just some angry 40+ year old who sounded like cartman from south park. haha.
