Chest Of Sorrows In Harpoon

  • Ahoy there mates ! Recently I have come across Chest Of Sorrows (which though have become a bit rare to find) and I tried to harpoon the chest some days ago, though the chest from where the water or tears start coming from falls in the sea then too the ship gets filled with the water and you have to bail now and then. It would be a great idea if you can keep them attached to your harpoon mean while water wouldn't fill up your boat. I hope Rear fixes this or takes it into consideration. Do leave your opinions below :) -GeneticTenticle

  • The whole point of a chest of sorrows is that it fills up your ship and you need to either bail or have someone hang on the side of the ship.

People have tried all kinds of tricks to have it not fill up the ship and every time something worked Rare fixed it. So no no tricks just scoop!

That's funny, we tried that yesterday.. same result, and not too surpised with the out come.
Personally... I'm happy enough how it's implemented... our curiosity satisfied.
They fixed the rowboat one... not too long ago... guess they want it to fill our hulls regardless.
The chest has one job... to make our life tricky.

  • @piratecraggy though they didn't fix the ladder one, that seems peculiar as well. For now it's the only option I think so

  • I think they should fix the ladder bug, not introduce more ways to avoid the chest of sorrows filling the ship. It's called a cursed chest for a reason.

Yip... well stick to what works... I guess :)

    edit: while it lasts?

  • @rk1-turbulence For now we are not sure though that the ladder thing is a bug but it might be so.....

I don't think it's a bug, and if it is they won't take it out.
Either you have someone hold it on the ladder or have someone scooping the whole time. The end result is the same. Someone is busy not tending to the ship.

  • Leave the darn things behind. They are not worth the gold for the time managing them.

  • @biter-wylie I usually get like 1-1.9k usually with this chest and most of the times I had this chest I had an Athena's Quest on me as well as kraken. Who would want to take the risk of 1 chest which isn't worth so much to make it drown all the stuff which is more precious than this chest. That is why I wanted to post my opinion that harpoon should give you a path were you could hold this chest as well as the other items at the same point of time without risking a loss of so much gold.

I agree. I thought it was a shame they removed the ability to store it safely on the row boat, as it gave the row boat more use.

  • @genetictenticle Just 0go straight for the closest outpost and have someone jump off and turn it in. Easy peasy. Or just leave it on the beach for someone else to find, that's usually what I do when I'm by myself.

As others have said, I don't think this would be a good idea, for similar reasons to other people, and that the lore is the curse fills the ship up. It's still touching the ship when it's harpooned, so the ship's still cursed.
