they didn't actually increase the time that loot floats in water for

  • in fact they lowered it. i sunk two skel ships today and lost most of the loot because it started sinking in about a minute and a half.

  • @acetemanophen they didn’t increase time they made loot rise faster. This may bring the consequences of loot sinking sooner than most expect now.

  • The sink timer should start when the treasure gets to the sea level - so it's likely it sinks faster after killing the ships now. But one minute and half seems really short.

  • @archaell I should get a stopwatch and test times at some point

  • If anything its not minute and a half.
galleon sunk, took around 15minutes to get back. mostly everything was on the surface.

So maybe a fluke of nature you had?

  • That's part of the difficult, be able to gather the loot at time.

  • did yesterday a skelliship raid solo,i say also the stronghold stuff sinks to fast, the items began to sink while i lootet them.

  • I've timed it in the past, and if you're in deep water it takes 3 minutes after surfacing for most items to start sinking (cages and cargo take longer). With the quicker surfacing that doesn't give you much time to pick them up.

  • so it turns out i did misread the patch notes. but still, something changed in this patch to make loot start despawning after only a minute and a half, which is ridiculous.

  • I have no hard metrics on this either, but I swear it felt like loot was despawning faster than we were able to grab in some instances. At first I was thinking it was just me, but dang it felt like time felt shorter before loot disappeared.

Personally I would like for loot to stay around a little longer. Nothing like dieing to a Kracken and then come sailing back very quickly only to find that nothing is around. Very disheartening.
