Purchasable lantern colors?

I agree as I have purposely sailed into storms with over 100 planks trying to get killed by lightning with no luck. Lightning rate in storms needs to be increased. Make it just half of what it was during the event and it would be just fine.

Mates leave it like it is. It is part of lore. It has purpose and meaning. It is not hard to get the colors needed.

If you really want to die and claim your colors, you need to work on your bucket list. Ask someone in another crew to shoot you or provoke another ship. Offer yourself as a snack to a friendly shark. Want the white lights? Jump off the crow’s nest once or twice as you sail into the storm. Clinging to life will zap you to the Ferry when lightning strikes.

In the Sea of Thieves it is not hard for your pirate to die. Good thing that the Ferryman brings all our pirates back each time we do. Play, be creative, and more importantly have fun. Everything can be had if you go after it. It will come easy depending on the choices you make and how you decide to play.

No need to just buy everything. The most important, rewarding things come free in the game as they do in life.

@x-crowheart-x I agree, that is why I say have it be an option only -after- you have completed them, just as a customization.

Perhaps a better alternative to buying em would be to have a special "lightning" storm weather effect? which instead of having rain, you get a barrage of lightning strikes if you are in it?

I think that would add a bit of a variety to the weather system

I suggested a secret base idea. You would be able to store your flames of the fates in your secret base, as well as customize the lanterns that hold them. Problem is, you loose the flames with your ship. You can’t loose an entire secret base

What about a lightning rod you can attach to the top of the mast of your ship? Sail into the storm with it for greater chances of being struck by lightning. Could also be used for other story purposes as well.

Hopefully one day we will get to become Pirate Lords and have a hidden hideaway. Have all kinds of customizations. Even a chicken coop for @Ruigtand-NL.

The problem with not being able to access the special lantern colours is that it's easier just to not bother with the colours than waste time trying to get them back. It should be accessible at will so there is an incentive for people to display them. I have limited time to play and don't want to spend time sailing around Volcanoes and in Storms just because I want those colours. Getting the special colours once is enough to be able to use them again in the future.

I would enjoy having access to all of the colors that I've collected; available to choose from without having to die that particular way again.

If those light colors were stored in one of the chests on ships would work just fine.
Be easiest on the DEV team.
It wouldn't make any sense for them to be there....but would appreciate having them at the ready.

Perhaps, having a lantern in the captain's quarters that holds all of the collected colors and can be easily toggled through...would make much more sense and feel more immersive.
