Volcanoes aren't great right now...

  • I think how volcanoes in the devils roar work should be changed.

I think, instead of just erupting over the general area, it should only shoot rocks down onto the island below it and should also spit less rocks that do less damage. I think this would make it a lot more of a fun, challenging and balanced feature, so you have to run from and dodge falling rocks as you run around looking for treasure or killing skeletons, similar to geysers and earthquakes just a bit harder, and the rocks can't hit your boat unless it's really close maybe. Opposed to the way they work now where you have no other option except sail away and just wait, and if you try to get back on the island you just get instantly squashed the moment you set foot on the shore, which is not fun or balanced but just annoying.

I believe the volcanoes should definitely be changed. What do you guys think?

  • P.S. Why is the outpost volcano allowed to erupt? I would have thought it would be a safe place to turn in your treasure and buy new things. That's the last place I wanna wait a volcano out. And what if I'm in the Athena hideout? I couldn't know if my boat is being crushed.

  • It's meant to provide some sort of challenge. If the volcano was focusing on only shooting rocks onto the island, that would make it very difficult. That's the point of the rowboat. To somewhat safely travel through the path of an active volcano to an island. If the volcano focused only on the island, wouldn't that just increase the chance of one of the rocks smacking my rowboat while on the beach? Let's say this patch did go through. Would the water still heat up? If so, that means I can't get my ship close to shore and have to rely on the rowboat that has a very good chance of being hit while on the beach. That pretty much just takes out the intended purpose of the rowboat. Interesting idea.

  • @alpacadragon Outpost are not a safe place
