Does any one else think it woupd be good nearer christmas to have snow showers in the game ? I think it would be awesome to have islands with snow on icicles hanging from the boat

The problem is that the game is based on pirate life in the Caribbean, but that can be solved by expanding the world and see even Viking ships, Chinese and all kinds, this could expand the mythology both terrestrial and marine and create more diversity in all aspects and of course places with snow :)

The origin story to SoT implies that this game takes place within or near the 'Bermuda Triangle', hence the association to Caribbean.

I agree with you on this, but as it stands most of their time seems to be spent on adding more content vs bugs etc, so on that note I agree with others. I like the storm system in the game. I feel like the storm system and water are two of the best things in the game and I wouldn’t mind them expanding on that. I know there adding a volcano, which I feel was a great idea and I get it’s a Caribbean based game, but even adding like maybe hail or something would be neat.Yea... I will start caring about how the 'Caribbean' should lack snow long after I start wondering how skeletons animate and turn people in necro parrots, let alone walk around in the first place.
I don't draw much need for a specifically Christmas based theme but I would say that some atmospheric updates to include weather for seasonal effect would be charming. It's been done in a million other games and even I have to admit I enjoy seeing the holiday/seasonal call outs time and again. It's just sort of a thing I've come to expect even if we wont see it in SoT.
And I doubt we will - this year at least. It'd be alot of work for little gain.
Maybe one or two of the Bilge Rat adventures will have some holiday "easter eggs" or themes, that'd make sense. But an overhaul of the entire weather dynamic isn't something I foresee in the future of SoT.
It's one thing to have skeleton captains dresses in red and white or to see face make-up added around the time of Halloween and called out as a holiday update or weekly, or even a new flag ala the arrival of the Pride flag only this time perhaps a Black Cat with an arched back.
It's a whole 'nother thing to add floating ice, accumulated snow and so on to the weather system.
I could see that in an update similar in size to FS though.. as mentioned before a "snow biome" with ice bergs or something.
