Sail Speed

  • Everyone (including myself) Talk about the grind and the monotony of Fetch Quests etc, etc.

I happen to really enjoy sailing around and catching chickens, or digging chests etc.

But was thinking about the time it takes to get from one island to another, even if you have sails full of wind you could be sailing for a good 10-15minutes between islands.

Do you think that upping the sailing speed a couple % would entice more gameplay?

  • good luck with those skull forts if people can zip back to you. Personally i think its fine now.

  • It may feel like 10-15 min in between islands but unless you are traveling half way across the map that cant be true for every scenario. I enjoy the grind and it gets you used to your surroundings. Use it for what its worth. Enjoy the game and wait for Rare content.

  • It takes 15 minutes to sail across the entire map(I've timed it). If its taking you 15 minutes to get from one island to the next, you're either doing something wrong or you're sailing between two rather distant islands and it should take you that long.

  • Take your time and enjoy your time on the beautiful water!

  • I think the speeds are perfect as they are, as it takes some skill to manage it appropriately and efficiently in battle. Especially with a galleon in the wind, it takes a bit of experience knowing when to raise sails to manage your speeds without overshooting and maintaining the turning you need to stay in cannon line of fire. I honestly think this sound bug with music is the biggest drag out of them all, in terms of ship speeds, as it gives you one less thing to enjoy and pass the time with.

  • I suggested last week to allow us to wet the sails for brief moments with the bucket. It was a legitimate thing sailors did. Look it up!

It's all about practice @Rakinishu , manage your sails and you will win.

p.s. I am getting tired of only hearing the Rythm, It's boring like I'm listening to a bassist only.

Its probably 2minutes or less to an adjacent island with wind in a galleon. 10-15 for the entire map. Seems good to me.
