Voyage completion

Can we get extra xp for completing voyages? A fine example of why that might be needed is take merchant voyages. You can just get a voyage for a golden chicken, hand it in and ignore the rest - cancel and re-roll for another golden animal request. That's the most efficient way to level up and earn gold (aside from raids which give the equivalent of over 15 good voyages and people can just switch servers and keep raiding, but that's a different topic). I don't see why we shouldn't be rewarded for completing voyages in the first place, can anyone give some reasons?
