Rare, please remove the experience and gold loss from choosing another pirate. I love the idea of having the random pirates so players dont just press play with the default one and we have loads of identical players running around. On the other hand i wold like to change mine from time to time so i dont get bored and not loose my progress in the game.

@s0ul-phoenix It does suck. I didn't even know there was re-rolls when choosing. I just looked through the first batch of pirates and picked the least sucky one. Sad that I can't change without losing my progression.
@mojo-spaghettio Thats a shame man, i knew there was re-rolls so ended up refreshing characters for around 4 hours. I still didnt have one i liked buy the time my friends came online and had to just chose one. Lets hope this gets changed for us and everyone else.
I've sunken hours into the game, around 30+ lvl in each company, but at the start, had to choose a character fast to play with my friends and could not spend hours looking into the IPG.
Please Rare, let us reroll our pirate without losing progression and specially without having to pay microtransactions.
Please give everyone the ability to re-roll at least once! Or put it in the item shop. Regardless, make it available. For a game that is almost entirely progressed through how one 'looks' and is represented in-game, to just be stuck with character you dont completely like must sucks. Will just make a few people quit sooner or later.
I think giving the players the ability to have a one time reroll without losing achievements and progression would make a lot of players happy. Many players like myself couldnt spend over an hour generating pirates because my friends were waiting to play. I know everyone says they will most likely add the ability to change features of your pirate through microtransactions down the the line but I feel like this would make the community pretty happy.
I'm hoping they add something to change your look soon, right now my character keeps changing his facial features every couple days i log in. 1 day I had a scar then the next day I had freckles everywhere and now his head is oddly shaped. I'm willing to restart my pirate and lose all progress but I want to ensure that this feature isn't coming out for awhile first before I do that.
@marlonngrando when you get to the Crew Selection if you hit 2 on PC or I think hamburger button on Xbox you can go to Pirate Settings and delete pirate.
If you choose to delete your pirate you are committing to delete EVERYTHING (That includes Gold, Rep, Items, and Weapons) Only stuff you keep is Black Dog Pack, Ferry Man Pack, Founders Pack, Mixer Flintlock, Mercenary Pack, and SSD Blunderbuss.
This is why we are hoping they add in a 1 time reroll without losing progress since alot of our pirates looks have changed alot since launch.
@cptncuttlefish I think character change is a bigger concern primarily because this game will lose more players if they're not playing how they want. Tons of games have latency and bug issues and people still play them like crazy *cough fortnite * but if the developers don't fix character change, no one will want to play a character they dislike which seems Highly important in this game considering the gold use is only for cosmetics.
@s0ul-phoenix i was in your boat once. Decided a week in i hated my looks, and restarted. Its a LOT more enjoyable when you like your toon. We should be able to purchase a remake potion. Even if it's 100k, I'd still like the option.
They really need to add in a full character editor and allow people to modify their existing pirates with it. I spent hours on that IPG trash and most of them look the same. I had to settle for one that is only partially as hideous as I'd have liked. I think the IPG is great when compared to default characters who all look the same, but as the only option? That was a really stupid idea.

Why should you lose everything for the look of your pirate?! They really should add at least 1 re-roll that keeps your stuff, or you should buy it with money.
Or we should be able to have more than 1 pirate.Also,

And some people actually think it's very important what their character looks like. I do. If this one simple change makes people play this game, I'm pretty sure we should both want it in game.

There's probably no dev work that needs to be done aside from enabling the player to use what's already there. A character creator already exists and the IPG just randomizes the values. Enable it!
They have to develop a UI for it so its not a easy flick of a switch thing.
I completly understand that you want each character to be special but i don't understand why we can't change how we look, not even one time so rare please either make some way for us to change appearance without losing all of our progress, or just don't and lose thousands of players in sea of thieves including myself!
Yes please! I’m not too happy with my pirate. I was fine with him at launch but after playing for so many hours so many little things have been bothering me. Hair colour, tattoos, the way all the clothes look stretched and warped because he’s the biggest pirate model etc. The IPG doesn’t show us all the angles and different lighting conditions etc.
Monster hunter world added a single use ticket some time after launch that allowed us to re-roll our character without losing stats and progress. I feel like something similar would be great in SoT’s! @Rare-Employee
I don't even have the pirate I picked! Second time I logged in, my character changed. Had blonde hair, now black. Had no scars, now one across my face! Had a kind face, now very mean looking. I submitted ticket on March 20th! Nothing...
I say, we paid the ridiculous asking price for this "early access" title. The least they could do is let us look like what we want WHEN WE WANT!
I spent an hour or so picking my character while my friends finished their current session but eventually had to make a decision. I was comfortable with the female character I chose (being the least hideous I could find) but a few days ago I saw another player with a good looking female character, actually good looking, and now I get angry every time I see my character. I just hit pirate legend... So obviously I'm not going to re-roll.
For the love of god Rare, hundreds upon hundreds of other games created these systems for good reasons. Being different in this case, (and most cases in this game) makes your game worse, not innovative.
@s0ul-phoenix. I can't believe the 2 most requested features "character rerolls and Optional cross play" have had no mention in any developer video
Changing your characters body should be a free option, with no limits. They want folks to make their own adventure, their main reward system is built around cosmetic items...allow players to create whatever body type they like. They want to be fat one day, thin the next...female, male, whatever. It doesn't take away from gameplay in anyway. It's all about customization here.
