Game forced respawn before dieing

Anyone know why our game host was forced to respawn? First time our ship sank, one of our players used the mermaid to respawn. About 30 seconds later our host just disappeared and was force respawned. Second time we were fighting another ship and myself and other teammate were killed. He killed two and was about to kill the third and then force respawned again. Neither time was a death (no ghost ship) nor an active choice like using a mermaid.
