Gold and Glory/Community Weekend Additions

  • My main idea is to add a Sovereign Golden Galleon. It surfaces in an open sea square on the map, stays for an hour, then dives and reappears at a different location.

Players wanting to earn double their gold and rep can sell their loot to the Sovereign NPC near the bowsprit of the Galleon, next to the harpoons. This doubling is on top of whatever bonus or multiplier is already in effect. Players not wanting to risk selling to the Galleon can still just sell at Outposts like normal for the event multiplier rates.
In order to interact with the Galleon, players must use a Golden Flare which automatically spawns in their barrels and can be picked up from in a crate from Larinna.
The Golden Flare must be fired off 1-2 grid squares away and if the Golden Galleon fires off a Golden Flare in return, then you have 15 minutes to sell your loot. Firing additional flares does not reset the timer. After the timer runs out, you have a fifteen minute cooldown before you can fire a flare again and have the Galleon fire a response flare. Instead it will fire a red flare if you try to fire a Golden Flare near it. This helps stop tuckers from sitting on the Galleon indefinitely.
If you do not fire your flare to signify you're friendly to the Galleon or if the grace period is over, then it will fire its cannons at you, with deadly accuracy. The mid deck are where the cannons are and it cannot be accessed, so you can't stop the ship from attacking your ship if no flare has been fired. Since no cannons are on the top deck, tucking crews can't target ships approaching and instead can only rely on their weapons or other traps... Luckily, the Galleon will also be stationary and not chase you, but it has front and back facing cannons on it, so every angle is covered if you don't fire your flare!

Golden Bottle quests can be completed, offering decent loot and a golden key. The main deck on the Golden Galleon has a ladder leading down to the bottom level. On it are eight rooms equally sectioned off.
Each room takes one key to unlock and contains high tier loot. Three or more of the rooms could contain a Chest of Fortune. A Sovereign NPC is also on the bottom level for quick selling, but tuckers can still be present, so always beware.
Crews would basically be in a race with each other to find these dig up and riddle quest bottles, get the keys they want and make it to the Golden Galleon to try their luck opening X amount of the treasure rooms. It's high risk high reward. Do you save up a bunch of keys and try all at once or do just one at a time? Each time the Galleon dives the treasure rooms are reset.

Now for rewards specific for playing during Gold & Glory or Community Weekends. At either of these events, crews must complete five bottle quests and sell 200k worth of treasure to the Golden Galleon in order to advance progress in unlocking a new tattoo that grows with every event players complete the requirement at. The tattoo would start on the left forearm, then the next event completion would be the right forearm, then one of the legs, back, torso, etc. until the body is filled with a tattoo that has more ink than the Umbra Chronicles one. A variation of this tattoo once completed is also unlocked for the skeleton curse, if it's feasible.
Players can take breaks from these events if they want, or complete them all in a row. It will work kind of like Grogmany with the notches being added to our tankards, except now it's a tattoo.
Players also unlock a new title for completion of what would amount to six G&Gs or Comm Wknds participated in.

Adding these additions might make Gold & Glories and Community Weekends a little more fun and would at least have higher player interactions happening because of hopefully most players wanting to sell to the Golden Galleon.
