Feature Request: Implement private/custom servers with PvE bot support

  • I absolutely love Sea of Thieves, but sometimes I just want to chill and enjoy the world. I deal with severe stress issues that directly affect my physical health and blood pressure, making the PvP incredibly difficult for me to manage. It gets highly stressful when aggressive players chase you for hours just to grief you, completely ruining my experience and lots of times I didn't have nothing aboard even saying that to them.

I would love to see an option where my friends and I can play on private/custom servers completely isolated from other players, perhaps replacing them with PvE bots to keep the world feeling alive.

the mode would retain full, normal progression. Players wouldn't have their Gold, XP, or commendations nerfed or locked just because they choose to play in a healthier, stress-free environment. Everyone should be able to enjoy the game they love and progress at a normal pace without being forced into unwanted PvP and unique stuff being added for those playing on the normal PVEVP mode.

And nobody will ever play normal high seas. Just because players don’t wanna socialize with randoms on a pvpve game.
Why did you kids even buy it?

Safer Seas and Custom seas (season 20) are your best bet if you choose not to practice or get better at this game. If people "chase you for hours" when you have nothing to lose, why aren't you at least fighting back for practice? What have you got to lose? You probably won't answer this question (no one does).

What you're asking for would kill the game. It's like playing chess without attacking your opponent's pieces. This game is PvPvE, which I'm sure you know already.

Go visit a Counterstrike forum and ask them for PvE servers. See what they say.

  • The game design and intent for Sea of Thieves is a shared world adventure, and it always will be. Those who wish to play in the confines of Safer Seas will always have the option but we will not bring the rewards and activities in line with those of High Seas when many of the restrictions are in place due to the risk vs reward factor that is inherent in Sea of Thieves - removing any risk means rewards must be balanced accordingly.

Safer Seas will act not only as a safe space for our Tall Tale players but also for families with children who just want to pirate, for people who want to play the game but learn the ropes and it will organically feed into Adventure mode, keeping the player pool there healthy and upskilled as they've learned the mechanics.

This is not only useful for new players but also families and players with accessibility needs - the whole game suddenly becomes available in a way it hasn't before, letting them naturally progress to High Seas and become a Pirate Legend. SoT has grown a huge amount in 8 years and it can be fairly overwhelming.
