People Spawn too close to me with Diving or Fresh spawn at Outpost

  • In 3 session I see literally 5 Crew spawn in front of me on Outpost when I'm going to sell, that start to bothering me hard, and in middle of the sea I have already 4 Ship who spawn just the next isle of me.
You new game design you change this update with close spawn need to be removed.
It not make sea more Alive, it make it bothering.

  • Its either players are missing, sea are empty, or they are to close to me.

    nobody happy...

  • @shaixys Ahoy hoy! If I may provide some feedback on this. I would recommend looking for other ships that maybe docked at the outpost and/or check for mermaids around the outpost before making a decision of docking. Some pirates are indeed in wait - just waiting for someone to come along so they can steal your treasure! Have yer wits about you! Assess a situation before you make a decision! I wish you luck on your next voyage!

  • @mad-jack-ketch I've been playing Sea of Thieves since the first update with Merrick and Megalodon, I know everything about the game, except that even after my message, I'm heading towards an EMPTY outpost. I'm just one square away and a ship spawns right in front of me at the New Session Parking.
The guys are starting to buy their crates from merchants.
Furthermore, I saw the video where they literally said they changed the Spawn rules to make the seas more "alive".

And even if it was just Fresh spawns, while trying to change Outposts since they had spawned in front of me on Plunder Outpost, obviously a Duo in Skelly Curse where I got 2 Taps in 2 seconds while going to check, I have another Ship that spawns right behind me with the Diving while I'm really close to Ancient Spire, just halfway between the Fortress and the outpost and of course starts to aggro me and prevents me from going to sell.
And before you tell me that it was the Plunder crew who followed me, that's impossible because I checked and they didn't follow me and stayed at Plunder to Stock their Ship and the ship that spawned was a Rank 5 Emissary, the horizon was perfectly clear of course.

In 7 years of playing, this has only happened to me very rarely, less than 5 times, but since their update, it's happening all the time.

For Solo players like me who only ever encounter Multicrews (yes, I haven't seen a single other Solo Sloop in 3 years and I play every season and complete them 100%), the game is simply unplayable.

  • @shaixys Try as I can to see your point, this situation seems appropriate for a game about piracy.

In case you feel overwhelmed by other players, give LFGs a chance and try to roll with the punches. More players nearby means more chance to interact and put those cannons to good use.

  • @metal-ravage I don't speak English and I'm currently using a translator to help me, and I don't want to play with strangers.

And just because the game is a "Pirate" game—which I disapprove of, since piracy is just one playstyle option—doesn't mean the entire world has to spawn around you.

The game was great the way it was, but since Rare has been releasing updates only for PvP players, the game's population has strangely plummeted. Why is that?

Maybe because we can't play peacefully anymore without having markers on our heads every two seconds?

And don't even bring up Safer Sea. Spending 40 minutes selling loot and only getting a quarter of the content? No thanks.
Not to mention the Safer Sea servers which lag 24/7.

  • @shaixys In that case better learn to paddle the boat you built for yourself matey.

Fair winds and best of luck to you!

  • I don't want to play with strangers.

One of the core reasons you "might wanna" try. It helps with keeping your boat afloat and its one of the key features of an Online game. But its sorta a fault of the game not encouraging you to do so.

And just because the game is a "Pirate" game—which I disapprove of, since piracy is just one playstyle option—doesn't mean the entire world has to spawn around you.

:/ Its the main focus of the game...Being a pirate. Not a playstyle. You can be a happy go lucky pirate, but others can be what they seen in movies or books. Fantasy stuff.
Well good News. Safer Seas is for you if you wish less players to spawn near you.

The game was great the way it was, but since Rare has been releasing updates only for PvP players, the game's population has strangely plummeted. Why is that?

    Sources.

Maybe because we can't play peacefully anymore without having markers on our heads every two seconds?

Player choices. and you can go play "peacefully" without a marker on your head, just dont pick up those items. Or play Safer Seas.

And don't even bring up Safer Sea. Spending 40 minutes selling loot and only getting a quarter of the content? No thanks.

Haha...40min is nothing. What content are you wanting to do you cant in Safer Seas....that doesnt involve PvP?
besides, it seems you need to stay on Safer Seas little more if you are having troubles. Learn the game is always a first and must before you take a dip into the big pool.

Not to mention the Safer Sea servers which lag 24/7.

Mostly...that is on the User. But if that isnt the case, you might wanna file a report on the cause.

Ah, the great defender of Rare! I wouldn't have been surprised if you hadn't been there, always wanting to defend them even when they're in the wrong and later admit to making mistakes that you defended, and then strangely changing your mind at the same time as them.

Everyone chooses how they want to play. I don't want to play with strangers since all my friends quit the game; it's my choice. A game that isn't welcoming to solo players is clearly evident with Sea of Thieves, which literally does nothing to be solo-friendly and has made things worse with each update for the last three years.

And it has lost practically all its solo players, something that can be seen directly in the game because, as I said, in three years I haven't encountered a single solo player in my many hours of gameplay.
And all of this results in a significant decrease in the overall player base.

Everyone is entitled to their rights. Furthermore, many people no longer have time to play in groups these days, and I see it myself in other games where sometimes I have to wait more than a week to do events with friends, and our availability never matches up.
So yes, solo play has become a priority in today's games, and if you don't do it, your game is simply worthless.

You want sources about the trend of declining player numbers? Well, look at Steamchart, which shows this trend. Even if it only affects Steam players, it clearly shows a significant drop in the player base. And obviously, this isn't limited to Steam.

Moreover, it's easy to say not to buy these marked items when they're the only new content to do. So basically, it's clear proof that these are just updates made for PvP mains.

Furthermore, more and more people are starting to demand the removal of all Sea of Thieves markers on social media and official YouTube videos, something I completely agree with.

I played from the first year; none of these markers existed then, and yet we had no trouble finding PvP.

The only marker that was added, and completely optional with no consequences, was the Reaper's Mark.

Now, all new content is marked for lazy players who just want to clear the entire map without caring about the loot.

And stop with your Safer Sea nonsense; we've understood for a long time that it's your only argument because you're wrong and you know perfectly well that you're ruining the game by wanting full PvP. Sea of Thieves was originally a game where you completed quests, and PvP was an option if you encountered another crew at sea.
The idea was that encounters would happen randomly, with quests intersecting and allowing you to travel, something that no longer exists at all because of diving and markers that remove this randomness.

It's as if you just want to stay within your limited circle of full PvP and no quests.

Well, I hope you'll be the first to buy custom servers and create your own full PvP servers as you wish, even though I know perfectly well you won't because it's more fun to attack those weaker than you, as we clearly see with Hourglass. A full PvP game where, precisely, these same PvP players refuse to play because they keep encountering other full PvP players. In fact, it's always been like that in this game, they give you things for PvP between you and you don't use them and prefer to hit weaker players by looking for those who are doing their quests.

So let's get back to the original topic: Rare needs to revert to the Closed Spawn system, and I'd even go so far as to say they should completely remove Diving while adding a server switch option with a cooldown using the Tall Tales portals near the Outposts.
And in doing so, they should also return to what the game was all about: traveling and meeting new people at sea.

Ah, the great defender of Rare! I wouldn't have been surprised if you hadn't been there, always wanting to defend them even when they're in the wrong and later admit to making mistakes that you defended, and then strangely changing your mind at the same time as them.

    Sums it up perfectly lol.

The rest of what you just said is super debatable that I don't have the time and energy to engage in.
I will just say there's still a lot of Solo sloopers out there.
RARE have made changes to the sloop to cater to said solo players, but it's also hard to not make that over powered for a duo sloop set up.

Well, I hope you'll be the first to buy custom servers and create your own full PvP servers as you wish, even though I know perfectly well you won't because it's more fun to attack those weaker than you.

I know this comment ain't directed at me, but once custom servers are set up, I don't mind paying a small monthly fee with other members to just PvP and forget that Adventure mode even exists, I'm honestly sick and tired of ''OrGaNiC PvP'' in adventure mode where it's 90% of the time just a running simulator. and HG 1v1s gets extremely boring after the 1000h spent in it.

  • @broadsideban

This is why Arena must return and Hourglass must become one of Arena's game modes.
In addition to their upcoming limited time game mode.
Personally I am totally for the return of Arena with multiple game modes, and not just the one we knew.
(Hopefully they also add Solo Queue to Arena Classic if they ever do)
The community has created quite a few "game modes" that certain circles play among themselves, now it's Rare to take inspiration from them and include them in Arena.
Even if some exclude the boat part of the game.

Everyone has their preferences, I myself hate the Ship Vs Ship battle where my friends fill this gap and I prefer the Players Vs Players where my role was the boarding and cancels repairs, this is why the loss of my crew makes me play less in PvP in Adventure where I remain passive unless you stick to me too much for my taste.
I happily tell myself that I have always been a PvEvP player because I would certainly have stopped the game a long time ago, even if I was originally more PvP than PvE and my friends more PvE than PvP.
Fortunately, age has calmed my murderous impulses, because I too have turned 7 and age calms down my murder intention and now I just want to play peacefully most of my time.
And this is precisely one of the reasons for my crew's Stop because they were fed up with not being able to enjoy the game during our few Multicrew sessions during the month because of the markers gathered all the PvP on us.

Now to get back into PvP a bit, I'm waiting for the Hourglass changes with the Zone shrinkage, because my last memory was 90% of the time of the fugitives who forced me to Alt F4, which ended up disgusting me with the game mode. (And the game at the same time, I doesn't count the number of time I do the error to go on Hourglass and being disguted of the game totally for a while because of the Runner and I'm too stupid to continue a try to sink them even if they do everything to avoid the fight)

And for the Solo Sloop I have seen the Buff for the last 7 years but it will not balance the breakable elements of the boat, this is where the real problem with the Solo lies, too many repairs to do for 1 person.
This is why I have been asking for years for a Solo Ship without the breakable Mast, Helm, Anchor and going back to the first year for this Solo Ship.
I even want to say that today because of the buffs the Duo Sloop are practically unkillable without boarding and you practically cannot afford it in Solo.
Because even if you damage them, it only takes 1 person to repair them to keep the Ship afloat while the 2nd can continue freely to board or continue to fire the Cannon.
The only times I've won recently in PvP have been on lucky cannon shots where I kill both players at the same time.
However, I have less trouble with the Brigantine or Gallion, even if it remains more dangerous the ships are longer and have more area where you can make holes which slows them down quite a bit in repairs unlike a Duo Sloop.

  • @shaixys Arena aint' EVER coming back.
The closest thing we are going to get is Custom servers with the tools that it will come with, but even RARE said there won't be an Arena framework attached to custom servers.

Really you just have to join the PvP Competitive community's that will spring back up if you want an Arena'esque experience again.
