Sloop only servers

  • I usually play with a brig and other friends but recently I have decided to give solo sloops a go just so I can finish my commendation that my crew mates have completed already, I am not great at PVP and don’t tell me to get better I have been playing since day 1 but the Arthritis in my hands doesn’t always allow for fast movements and no I can’t do the comms I need to do in safer seas, today I was chased and killed by 3 Galleons, before I do anything that I need be away from my ship I double check there’s no reapers and no ships I can see coming more often that not I don’t have treasure on board no flag or anything, and now that galleons have been made the fastest ship on the seas I just can’t seem to out run them and 4 v1 ain’t that fun after a while, I feel I may have a better chance against a sloop even if it’s 2 v1 because most of the time it’s newbies getting in for the rumble.

I feel like when signing in you can have the option of sloop only or all in for all ships including the sloops that are god players and can take on any one and I know there’s a few of those about, I don’t think safer seas is needed

  • today I was chased and killed by 3 Galleons

    3 people on galleon or...actually 3 galleons...because I find that unlikely.

now that galleons have been made the fastest ship on the seas

    Against wind, No.

    and 4 v1 ain’t that fun after a while

Neither is 3 other sloops, with duos and it just you. :P

most of the time it’s newbies getting in for the rumble.

The smaller fish are often the most dangerous.

Even though you're a day one player, it sounds as if you haven't played the game very much to gain a lot of experience. Galleons are faster ONLY with the wind. The sloop is the fastest against wind.

If you're not interested in sinking your opponent, there are other ways to outsmart them, by using the environment. I was somewhat new to the game just trying to do Merchant when I noticed a galleon coming at me. I dropped sail, went into the fog, and anchored. They sailed past and never saw me. Another strategy I used is going into a storm. If they follow you, do an anchor turn and now you've frustrated that entire crew. I've even used certain islands to my advantage to get them stuck.

Galleons are my favorite ship to sink if I'm on a sloop. Don't think for a minute that just because they're small, it means they're weaker or need a server just for them. I've sunk the Burning Blade using the Sovereign harpoon (I have the video). I've sunk a brig using a cannon rowboat. I outsmarted a reaper brig when I put junk on a rowboat and rowed away with it. There's so many tactics at your disposal. No special server needed.

Bigger crews are easier to sink because they are less coordinated. If it bugs you do open crew or Safer Seas

1-Not always the case with larger crews, especially not my crew.
2- Open crew is always a hit or miss and a headache dealing with trolls.
3- There's more options than simply open crew or Safer Seas lol.

  • @europa4033
-1 most of the time (galleons especially) are very uncoordinated. Especially not my crew because they are idiots 😂
-2 sometimes you get some good player. I once got a ghost curse lol
-3 Ok what other options xD

1- Sorry to hear that lol. An unorganized crew is easy to sink.
2- Absolutely. There are times you will get someone amazing. I've had it happen to me, but I've read countless stories from players who have had horrible experiences, and then get scolded for doing open crew.
3- There are many ways to outsmart an opponent or a larger ship chasing you. I gave OP a few examples. Use your environment to your advantage.

  • @europa4033

    1. yeah that's why I only play on a duo sloop with like my friend. The only friend that I can actually function with but he's pretty inactive lol.
    2. Yup. But he didn't let me do anything and ended up leaving bc we sunk and he tried to carry lol.
    3. That works
  • @shadowfox327533 as I said I am comms you can’t do the comms I need I safer seas

  • @burnbacon I never once said it was 3 galleons at the same time it was at separate times 1 galleon crew sunk me twice and there also another galleon in the same session

  • @europa4033 I actually play often just never in a sloop until recently

This sentence right here, is what made me think you don't have much experience, since you're the fastest in a sloop sailing against wind.
