The Killer Whale (World Event)

  • You're sailing the seas, the wind is in your favor, all is well and right with the world. Suddenly, something has gone ary. The sea turns blood red. But that can't be, you're well out of range for the Shroud. The winds turn against you, when only moments ago they were safely pulling you to your destination. Why has the Sea of Thieves turned on you so suddenly? Then you see it: The Killer Whale. It does not attack you, however, it is damn hard to catch up to. Surely this is the cause for all this madness, so you decide to give chase, and whenever possible, unload your cannonballs and spears onto it. You soon discover that the killer whale has not come alone, it has an ally to prevent you from harming it. The fabled beast, The Crystalized Kraken. It's skin is covered with crystals all around, making it glow in the night's sky. Perhaps these are amethysts, could be anything really. The kraken wraps a few of its tentacles around your ship, holding you back from harming it's companion. Thankfully, it does not hold you down for very long, especially when using your trusty blunderbombs on it. After the kraken relinquishes it's hold on your ship, you are now free to chase down the killer whale once more, and put an end to all this craziness.

**BONUS: Maybe the killer whale could eventually lead you into the shroud, and start circling a new island exclusive to this event. If you weren't within range of the killer whale, you won't be able to reach this island. On this island is a statue or mermaid that allows you to store your treasure, and teleport back to the main seas. No coming in, or out of the island unless you were with the killer whale.

Another idea is that maybe this crystalized kraken could have a special move where it can latch onto your ship with it's teeth, letting you get a look at it's face. Think like the ending of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, where Jack lunges at the kraken.**

  • Sounds like the shrouded ghost adventure but with extra steps and less polish

  • @potatosord Is that really a bad thing for this game?

Edit: Also, I have no idea why you think my idea sounds like that particular adventure. Maybe I should've specified that I'm talking about an actual killer whale? Like, as in the animal? Also, you're not really chasing anything or being halted by an obstacle or being lead to a new location or getting the cool aesthetics I proposed. The only similarity is hunting an ocean creature, which is like 15% of the game anyway. Also, I don't think adventures are really fair to compare to world events, again, like I've proposed. You're just supposed to finish off a random encounter in world events, not go on 2 hour voyages.
