Hi all,
As the title says:)
Any advice would be very helpful as I’m currently a bit overwhelmed with information!
Sincerely,
A complete noob
The best advice i can give to a new player is to learn to not be attached to your loot as fast as you can. The reason for that is because you will sink, and it will eventually happen when you have a lot of loot. The less attached you are to the loot, the less upset you will be when you lose it, as well it will let you enjoy what the game has to offer more if you can walk away from a fight penniless or with a massive haul smiling either way.
It is hard to disconnect from your loot since that is the core of the game, but you will always get more no matter how much you have lost. What i personally did was i chose to put up emissaries and refuse to sell unless i sunk at least 1 other player, the logic being it would teach me some, if i lost then they earned the loot as the better pirate, but if i won, i defended it and earned it.
So at the end of the day, the games core/drive is loot, but that should not be your core/drive when playing, and its best to learn that away if you want to have fun and not worry too much.

Yes that's a good one.
You will lose your loot in this game. Just start again or go back for revenge.
The loot aint yours untill you sold it, keep this in mind at all times.
But..... like the pirate lord will eventualy tell you: It's not about the gold, its about the glory.
The journey you go on with your friends & crews is the true treasure in this game.
So I would strongly encourage you to find a nice group of people to play with, as it makes the game way more enjoyable.
Find a nice guild, which has their own discord server and start those epic adventures together.
