    Try skeleton forts.

  • since they spawn in the danger zone I would try north star sea post during an active fleet

could even do it without a ship if you wanted to

then you could just catch and sell right away

without a ship the risk is gonna be minimal at a place you can sell and nobody is really actively looking for someone fishing there.

get the rowboat tangled up under the dock (don't black screen) and you probably won't even have a mermaid to worry about

  • @xdragonman15558 only thing that would suck is for some buns to roll up while I’m trying to fish

  • @wolfmanbush I’ll try that tomorrow

    Check shipwreck barrels!!!
I don't care for fishing (in game or irl lol) so I have most of my HC commendations and progress from looting shipwreck barrels.

I know it's probably not the fastest way, but hey.

  • Battlegills spawn during skeleton fort fights and skeleton ship fights so the easiest ways to get them are to collect your grubs and do this:

    1. Look for the Skelly fleet to be up north of Reaper's. Sometimes the fleet will be up for quite a lot of time because not a lot of people enjoy doing it. Find somewhere to safely park your vessel (the old Arena hideout docks work fine) and fish to your hearts content as long as that cloud is up. You can also scuttle your ship and just stand there and fish, then hide your supply crate and go gather it with your ship afterwards if you see people coming along.

    2. Go to a Skeleton Fort or start up the Fort of the Damned. You can fish as long as it's not being completed. A lot of people who may approach these things while you're trying to do that can be reasoned with if you tell them you are just there to fish, but you can also always be careful and hide a storage crate nearby wherever you are fishing to tuck away your catch and bait, and keep it safe in case someone comes and attacks your ship. I got a lot of my battle gills completed by just staying on the boat and fishing for the crew while they took their time completing the forts. It's also helpful to keep someone on the ship anyways if you are doing Fort of the Damned to be sure that someone doesn't sneak a little keg on there while it's being completed lol.

    3. Loot every shipwreck (reaper and manifest voyage too!), rowboat, and washed up supply crate that you come across. I know a lot of people don't like to stop and take the time to do things like that but I have found quite a few battlegills and rare fish in shipwreck barrels. I have found a few shadow storm fish (one in a rowwie!) and a bunch of other rare fish.
