Queremos piratear de verdad - We want to really pirate

Varios amigos hemos comprado Sea of Thieves, Pero hoy hemos querido jugar 5 personas y no podemos.

At the request of Captain Crabbe - Sea of Thieves - Player Support, whom I contacted yesterday through Support and who approved this proposal.

Several friends of mine have purchased Sea of Thieves, but today we wanted to play with five people, and we can't. We know the alliance tool exists, but we can't all be on the same server. I'm aware that Rare specifically doesn't want two or more ships on the same server because they get an "advantage." The point is, what we want is to ENJOY the game's story, the Tall Tales, the treasure-hunting quests, or killing Skeleton Lords, not ruin the experience for other players. Because I think you had a great idea and created a great game, but it's poorly executed, since 80% of Sea of Thieves players consider it a pirate "Fortnite" and only play to sink other players, without interacting, without talking, without making deals. ZERO pirate experience, just getting killed over and over again. We want to have the RIGHT to enjoy it with our friends who we've told good things about your game and who have purchased Sea of Thieves.
If the "advantage" is your excuse for not being able to have fun with our friends and play the beautiful stories you've created, then enable PvP and PvE servers. Players like us can be together in PvE and do Sea of Thieves quests, talk to other pirate players, and maybe even have a "PvP" flag tool that you can toggle on and off at your leisure, so you can fight against other players if you want.

80% of Sea of Thieves players consider it a pirate "Fortnite" and only play to sink other players, without interacting, without talking, without making deals.

    Source?

    enable PvP and PvE servers.

High Seas is a PvPvE server, that won’t change. Safer Seas is considered by some a PvE server since there are no enemy crews on there.

maybe even have a "PvP" flag tool that you can toggle on and off at your leisure, so you can fight against other players if you want.

Again, High Seas’ PvP is non optional, if you want that, go into Safer Seas.

  • @wanxo904801 LOL, says he wants to "pirate" in title, then proceeds to complain about being pirated.

Game is designed as a shared world adventure with no separation between PvP & PvE players, a PvPvE game which makes it unique and there is no drive to change that. Ships crew limits are set for balance purposes, adding another to ships destroys that balance. Safer Seas exist for single crews that wish to avoid other players for whatever reason, but is limited to a degree for balance purposes again.

The game is not "poorly executed" as it does what is advertised, you had misplaced expectations. You are purposely exaggerating the "threat" of other players as it is nowhere near that aggressice on servers, I'd say it is closer to 50/50 on encounters or more towards the peaceful side of things since many people just avoid one another. I was even invited and participated in a 3 ship alliance just this morning, all peaceful with no betrayals and everyone contributed something while I was on. But there is always the possibility of a threat from another player so you need to keep an eye on the sea and be prepared. Without that possible htrest from others the game would get rather stale quickly.

Finally, support did not "approve" your proposal - they informed you to post here to get you out of their hair with their canned response. The game is not going to change its fundamental core just because you wrote to support about it, they do not have the power nor inclination to do so. They were giving you the brush-off.

  • @wanxo904801

    How do you enforce non-pvp?
Also, it's not like you're the only new player(s) in this game. Everyone sinks. It's part of the game. Loot isn't yours until you sell it. It's not Rare's responsibility to make the game easier or make pve servers all because you haven't learned defense or tactics.

  • @europa4033 Otro que no lee.
Que no me estoy quejando de eso!! Vuelve a leerlo!
8 amigos queremos jugar juntos. 8, está claro no? Bien.

  • The game design and intent for Sea of Thieves is a shared world adventure, and it always will be. Those who wish to play in the confines of Safer Seas will always have the option but we will not bring the rewards and activities in line with those of High Seas when many of the restrictions are in place due to the risk vs reward factor that is inherent in Sea of Thieves - removing any risk means rewards must be balanced accordingly.

Safer Seas will act not only as a safe space for our Tall Tale players but also for families with children who just want to pirate, for people who want to play the game but learn the ropes and it will organically feed into Adventure mode, keeping the player pool there healthy and upskilled as they've learned the mechanics.

This is not only useful for new players but also families and players with accessibility needs - the whole game suddenly becomes available in a way it hasn't before, letting them naturally progress to High Seas and become a Pirate Legend. SoT has grown a huge amount in 5 years and it can be fairly overwhelming.

The borders put in Safer Seas mean that to experience the full depth and breadth of the game you will have to hit the high seas BUT if you're playing with your family you don't have to, you can just enjoy the game and have fun as a family.
