It seems like there isn't a consistent definition of what makes a cosmetic a mask, so I want to present one: "A mask is a cosmetic that covers the pirates face, and can't be classified as a beard (only the lower half) or an eyepatch (only the left eye); they must allow for hats, and should allow for beards, if they don't cover the lower half of the face; any head cosmetic extends outside the face area is a hat"
