Me and my cousin stacked 1 skull fort, 1 fleet, 1 treasury, and 5 fotd on out boat, and we took the last kegs to sell. We checked for tuckers 3 times on our way to plunder, and we were taking pictures of our stack. Then randomly the kegs explode without anyone being near them to hit them.
Keg randomly exploded
Generally don't carry kegs. If it's specific ones for commendation put them on your bowsprit so you won't die if they do explode.
I've never had this happen so I doubt it's random, something triggered it you just may never know what.
One thing to note is once they're off your ship and you're not holding them any touching your ship will trigger explosion. I've had buddies who have dropped them on dock then the ship momentum has moved it forward causing to touch and trigger
Did you check recent players after?

It is entirely possible that even while checking for tuckers, you just didnt see them. People are a lot sneakier on here than you may think.
I check for tuckers with swooping my cutlass or throwing a fire- or blunderbomb ...
And yes ... sometimes we exploded ...
@lem0n-curry Im pretty sure we hit a keg in the ocean. When checking for tuckers i hit every barrel, check crows nest, check canopy, and check rowboat "if we have a rowboat" so im pretty sure there were no tuckers.
