I know we have the crossbow skin for the eye of reach, but I really want to sea real crossbows added into sea of thieves, I know its a little soon after the most recent update but I want to put this idea out now.
Crossbows in sea of thieves would be similar to the eye of reach, the difference being the arrow has a quicker drop off and is less ranged but it does more damage and has a slower reload. Like for example it does 90% damage but you have to be very precise and somewhat close because the arrow is a little slow. It has a long recharge animation because you're loading an arrow for crying out loud, but the damage would make it balanced and somewhat viable for PvP like the blunderbuss. Another idea is to add bleeding damage so it does the same damage as the eye of reach but it would cause the enemy to bleed, obviously no blood effects or animation but if it had a damage over time effect like as if the arrows were poison tipped or something it would be really fun and it would work like setting your opponents on fire, though you would have to eat food to stop the effects and effects only last for a few seconds. It would technically add more damage and make the weapon reload worth it.
The harpoon gun already pretty much is a crossbow just with a rope tied to it, so I feel like this would be a very natural addition to the game that doesn't break the sandbox. I believe it would be awesome to see it in game as a unique weapon and I know there are a lot of crossbow fans out there who would love it.
